DEVASTATING News Out Of Denver...Walker To Have Surgery
hat tip to hoosierteacher for posting this....
Walker will have knee surgery and miss several weeks. This changes everything. NOW I'm worried.
I just read the news over at ESPN. Let's pray for Walker, and let's pray for our team while we're at it.
Marshall has been playing great, Stokely should be able to make things happen, and we'll need to rely on a heavy dose of tight ends to make things work. Shanny says several weeks, but when you account for recovery time and getting into football shape (it's his KNEE folks) I think this is probably the season.

My Take -- You can read more about it here, but the long of the short of it is Walker just hasn't gotten any better the past 3 weeks and something needed to be done. In a season that has been riddled with injuries since the minute training camp opened, this is just another blow to a season quickly on its way to being lost...TSG

Whoa...
Shanny has a reputation for kicking anyone who badmouths his coaching to the curb, which I haven't seen to be the case. But damn, why would Walker be talking up his return all week only to get the surgery call?
Point 1: This doesn't look good for Shanny's rep, but who cares. Knowing Shanahan means knowing that this isn't about him.
Point 2: Walker had to have a clue that Surgery was an option...why all the talk? Is he building up the others for his absence, posing as a red herring? That isn't what it sounded like. it sounded like he was damn sure he was going to play and make a difference in this game...

I would have to look at the timing of everything
On a semi-related note, that same ESPN article is now reporting that Stephen Alexander was placed on injured reserve. The Denver Post had reported that Chad Mustard was gonna resign so I am guessing this is the roster spot he will take.
It's swelling...nothing is torn, busted, or broken
Not just because Walker is out, but also because Champ may not play either. To many IFs for me to feel good about going for the underdog Broncos.
At least if they lose I will win along with 95% of the rest of these yokels I play with, but if the Broncos win then I will still get to whoop and hollar and be happy for 7 days straight!
