Thought I would try and inject some levity after all the focus on the GB loss. This was an actual question that a couple of us tossed around a few years ago. What change in life condition would allow you to root for the Raiders (or some other archrival in another sport)?
What if your sister married the coach or a player?
If your relative/good friend/godson got drafted?
Those were about the only scenarios that we agreed were worth considering. Of course we argued about the degree of each one. We agreed that your sister marrying the star QB made it OK to start rooting for them. Your wife's cousin marrying the punter didn't qualify.
So where is your line or is there never a situation where its OK to root for the Raiders? Did my friends and I miss another scenario where it might be OK? And thankfully my sister married a musician :)
