Happy Thanksgiving -- Turkey Day Open Thread

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Here's hoping everyone has a wonderful holiday, filled with food, family and football! Feel free to use this entry as an open thread to discuss any of today's games. It starts off well enough with the Packers and Lions, but goes in the tank after that, which is ok, since the tryptophan usually kicks in around halftime of the Dallas game.
in any case, enjoy Turkey Day and thanks for making MileHighReport.com what it is today!

Turkey!
"Biff Turkeyton signs with oakland"
"It was tough seeing my family get eaten, but it could have been worse. They could have got signed by oakland too," he gobbled, when asked how he felt about the deal. He comes in to help an aging Raiders defensive front that has been keeping the pitiful oakland offense in many close games.
After spending most of 2007 watching games on sunday among the rest of the unsigned, undrafted free agents, Biff is happy to be seeing some action, even if it is in oakland. "After sitting out the Senior Bowl with a sprained jibblet, I was really worried that the only team that would sign me would be Denver, since they always seem to pick up a bunch of turkeys from the UFA pool." But Turkeyton stayed in the weight rooms and grained himself at a local dairy, knowing if he stayed diligent his shot would come.
"I'm just glad to get this chance to prove myself, to rise out of the barnyard and show what a turkey can do. Sapp, he's one of my boys, we grained together."
So, are you thankful, Turkeyton?

He'll get eaten alive.
He'll lose his head either way.

Yummy!
Looks like it's gonna be another uneventful Thanksgiving day of football. That is unless Joey Harrington somehow turns into Tom Brady. But that seems unlikely.
Oh well, hope everyone has an awesome Thanksgiving and enjoy it! Go Broncos!!
Happy Thanksgiving
Just thought I would share a sappy story about a sports incident that happened when I went to college. It shows what I am thankful for.
Our school started a rugby club. I went to pick up my "fraternity big brother" from the first practice, and got there a little early. I was asked to stand in and help with a couple of plays, then asked to join the squad. I was overwhelmed that I was being asked to join a college team (well, club so far), even if it was a small college.
A couple of weeks later our team captain / coach / founder got called up to serve. He was in the Marine Reserves, and the first Gulf War was building up. He was also the only guy that knew how to play the game! We were crushed. We had just ordered our uniforms and equiptment (out of our own pockets). We were hoping to get the athletic department to pick us up the following year as a full team program.
Well, someone told someone else about our problem, and that got passed on to someone else, and so on, and so on. One day a phone call came down to our school's president. The call came from the United States Air Force Academy. They heard that the only person who could help our fledging program was sent to Desert Shield. The call said that the Air Force Academy (about an hour from our school) would take us under their wing and let us practice and scrimmage with them every day.
Every day we got the snot kicked out of us. We thought we sucked. But when we finaly got to play against other schools we discovered that the beatings had paid off. We became a respectable program. When our founder returned he was awestruck by how far we had come.
Today I'm thankful for God, family and country. But given what is going on in the world, I'm especialy proud of and thankful for our young servicemen and women. Please keep them in your prayers today.
Enjoy the family time brothers, for in a few days we go to Chicago! GO BRONCOS!
