Anyone else...
...think we should pull our starters now?  No sense in any injuries to our top guys.

It would also be nice to have try outs for next season right now.  (I think BroncoDude would like this approach).

no
the drop in talent is too much in most positions.

We arent deep. But Hall might get to play

Ooh
Almost a blocked punt there... but it goes for a touchback instead.

by amirebram on Dec 9, 2007 4:41 PM MST reply actions

Nah
It's not running up the score unless we act like NE (throwing bombs and going for it on fourth down).  We're still playing with class.

As to drop in talent; we don't need to pull all of our starters.  Just three or four on either side of the ball is the norm.

KC isn't coming back.  This is an excellent opportunity (at game speed) to give some back-ups valuable experience and to try out some back-ups to assess our offseason needs in depth.

Not a popular decision for fans, but a good move by a coach none the less.

Remember SD and DET
this game is out of control.

KC will be lucky to get out alive at this point.

by Jeremy Bolander on Dec 9, 2007 4:43 PM MST reply actions

Steelers trailing
31-13, go for the fourth down conversion on the 1-yard line... and mess it up. Pats have the ball again with 13:27 to play in the last quarter.

I think the lesson here is, never guarantee a victory over a 12-0, Bill Belichick-skippered team.

Here that sucking sound?
That is the sound of a guarantee in the NFL...

YAC
We are getting too high on it ;)

YACity YAC
yep.  it is addicting.  I will say that getting one dimensional like JAX (all big WRs) isn't in our best interest.

by Jeremy Bolander on Dec 9, 2007 4:50 PM MST up reply actions

Remember
Broncos have a short week.

Playing the Texans Thursday.

by binford04 on Dec 9, 2007 4:45 PM MST reply actions

Silver
NEVER guarantee a victory period.  I think it just revs up the opponent more than it psychs up your own team.  You look stupid when it doesn't work, and it is kind of classless.

And yeah, against the Pats it just comes across as ignorant.

After Brady threw that 63-yard rocket
He apparently went over to Smith (the Steeler running his mouth off) and had words for him. So yeah, it just doesn't work.

1 yard line
finally a good punt

by amirebram on Dec 9, 2007 4:46 PM MST reply actions

Taylor Jacobs
our 5th string WR toed the line there.  Looked like he stepped on the line, but who cares.  The official was right there.

by Jeremy Bolander on Dec 9, 2007 4:47 PM MST reply actions

Nice STs move.
Punt downed on the one.

I used to love bringing blitzes here with the front seven and going for the safety.  I kept the CBs in man and the SAFs deep just in case.

It punches the other team's morale right in the gut when you get a safety for two points.

We almost flubbed that punt return.
Like I said, let's not get carried away.  Now is the time to be careful and not push anything.  The game is over.

We don't want injuries, and we should run down the clock and get out.

Mallard with the sack, Harris with the recovery.

Jets have a chance to beat CLE!
If they (NYJ) can score a TD in the last couple of minutes it improves our chances a bit.  They have the ball.  (I'm not holding much hope out, but we aren't eliminated this week since we will beat KC).

STUPID JETS!
Why did they kick a FG?  Under two minutes on the clock and they need a TD to win?!?!?

by Steve Nichols on Dec 9, 2007 5:05 PM MST reply actions

Technically, the TD was a bad thing
now if Jets can get into FG range they can kick it and go for an onside kick again.
