SBNation Mock Draft Pick #6 -- Washington Redskins
![]()
With the sixth pick in the 2007 SBNation Mock NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select.....

Jamaal Anderson, DE -- Arkansas
After a feverish day of trade talk, the Redskins decided to stand pat and draft for big-time need in getting Anderson, who has seen his stock sky-rocket since the end of the college season. You have to wonder if Anderson, who compiled 65 tackles and 13.5 sacks last season as a junior, will simply be a one year wonder. He does have the size(6-5 1/2, 288) and speed(4.75-40) to be an effective pass rusher and run stopper, but he doesn't have a ton of starting experience, becoming the full time starter at Arkansas last season. It the 'Hogs biggest game, Anderson seemed to disappear, and it will be interesting to see what happens to Jamaal as a Pro.
With that, the Minnesota Vikings are on the clock...
Just as an overall observation, I would love to know the last time two offensive linemen, and two defensive linemen were taken in the first 6 picks of any draft, real or otherwise. Interesting indeed.

Linemen
Looks like you have to go all the way back to 1985 to find this scenario in the real draft. 5 of the top 6 picks went to lineman and 8 of the top ten. Two OL and three DL in the top six.
As for mock drafts, we usually drool over the "specialists" and overlook the men in the trenches. So good look finding many that have this scenario.
