Ray Lewis free agency...
... anyone interested? He's shown some resurgence... might get a good 2 years out of him.
How does the salary cap look under this scenario? I really like the way DJ and Nate have played this year (compared to what I've seen the past 1 1/2 years). Also think we need to find a safety, but maybe that can wait until the '09 draft class?
The one thing I do know is that Calvin Lowry is not NFL caliber. Wow... watched the game tape after getting back from NE and I was dumbfounded how ineffective, out of place, and TIMID he was when plugging the run! Bounces off the upper body on tackles too.
Thoughts?

Too expensive.
I have a feel we’re going to be looking to clear cap room for the dynasty we are building. Plus, I hate the guy. lol ;-)

btw, welcome to MHR!
And I still can’t get over what he did to us in the playoffs in 2000.

Amen
I’ll say it again, Amen.
We admire in the sea’s rages the total lack of reason and justice, the blindness to all but the laws of it’s own nature;
And quite naturally, since similar feelings and desires lurk deep inside our own minds. A wrecking sea is part of what we all dream ourselves to be every night.
John Fowles
A real P. O. S.
Michael Fabiano really knows nothing about football outside of regression analysis and stat extrapolation. If it doesn’t have to do with fantasy football, his opinion is worthless.
Beast of a player...but
I still harbor ill feelings toward him for that “little” situation in ATL. I also don’t like the idea of us getting older at the position.
I wish Woody Paige was our coach!
Too old and he really needs DT to scrap the O-lineman to keep him clean, we don't have those types of DT
Baltimore runs a defense similar to what Bates wanted to insall, get two massive DT to occupy blockers, DE that can stop the run, and let the LB run free. Since we lack those types of players, I doubt he would be that effective.
"Me fail english, that unpossible" - Ralph Wiggum
Ray Lewis is an outstanding MLB
however I want to get a player like him out of the draft so we can have him for a long time. No more rent-a-guy for a couple of seasons

Cutler's 4th qtr/OT game winning drives: 4
Second that...
…we need to find and develop a long term option at MLB. Ray Lewis would be a stop gap that would just put us back where we started after a season or two. I wouldn’t be to see our first pick in the upcoming draft used to address this need.
GO BRONCOS!!!

I concur, plus his involvement in the Super Bowl murder in Atlanta was disgusting
He is probably a better fit for the raiders.

No thanks....
DJ has played well but if Nate Webster NEVER play MLB for us again will be too soon.
He needs to be our ST Captain, and thats an important role, but he does not had the football IQ to captain our defense at MLB.
Welcome and thanks for the post!
Julius Peppers
is the only free agent I really want. Other’s may be nice as well but Peppers is exactly what the doctor ordered. A stud DE that can do it all, he is 28 so not that old. I say GO GET PEPPERS!
Free Agents
I think the only position I could condone picking up a free agent would be on our D-Line. But if we are going to get a FA for our line it needs to be someone great not another D-Rob.

Character Issues?
We’re cleaning up the character on this team (which I believe we all applaud) getting rid of drug dealers (Henry), me-first players (Javon, Lelie) and washed up has-beens (Sam Adams, Simeon Rice), the last thing we need to bring in is a murderer.
I can’t imagine a worse fit for our new character push.

I want Al back
BTW, while watching the Tennessee/Alabama game on Saturday, I noticed that the Vols MLB is Alex Wilson. Coincidence? Maybe we can revive the original Al Wilson in a younger version from the same school.
