Updated Bronco Bets?
Base on both negative and postive trends, I asked the following last week.
Which of the following do you think is least likely to occur this season?
(A) Jay Cutler throwing 3 interceptions in a game.
(B) A Bronco RB gaining 150 yards in a game.
(C) Denver STs not allowing another Punt or KO return for a TD.
(D) Denver Defense holding a team to 10 points or less.
(E) Denver getting 4 or more sacks in a game.
(F) Shanahan firing another coach at season's end.
The Broncos came close to achieving (D), but as usual, some late game prevent D prevented it. And with Dumervil's hand getting better, and Slowik opening things up with some cover 2 corner blitzing, the Broncos also almost attained (E). But once again, no cigar. But, I know we all expect (B), (D), and (E) to happen sometime this year, cause our defense and running game are showing improvement.
SO based on further negative or postive trends, HERE IS A NEW QUESTION:
"WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN FOR SURE THIS YEAR, BETWEEN ANY OF THE ABOVE (A-F) OR BELOW G-L)?
(G) Prater kicks a 60 yard field goal.
(H) Moss suits up for 3 games in a row.
(I) Cutler gets sacked twice or more in a single game.
(J) Broncos end the season +4 in games decided by 3 pts or less.
(K) A Bronco CB has a multi-Interception game.
(L) The Broncos score less than 16 points in any game.

I think G
But here’s an interesting bet, what are the odds that at the begining of 2009, only Mike Shannan will be coaching the team he was coaching in 2008 in the AFC West. To me Herm Edwards will be gone after this year and I think if San Diego doesn’t get into the playoffs and make a run, Norv Turner will be gone, and we already know Kiffin is gone, and I am guessing Cable will also be gone by next year.

Yes, how many AFC West head coaches has Shanny ran off in his tenure?
Too many to count.

Herm will stay
He is partial architect of the chef’s rebuilding plan.
That’s ok with me. We’re playing for wins, not media publicity....HT 9/11/08

I say I
This offensive line has surprised most of us, I think. Clady should be in the Pro Bowl at season’s end if he continues his strong play and development and stays healthy. The other guys are all very solid players. However, a game is coming in which a defensive coordinator will throw the kichen sink at the Denver offense. I don’t think the offensive line will give up 4 or more sacks in a game, but I think that 2 could very easily happen.

Yes, I think it is bound to happen.
Two sacks in one game is not that uncommon.

G
And I think that at some point, it will be from more that 63 yards away! Hopefully against the faders (sort of a passing of the torch from SeaBass to Prater) as the kicker with the strongest leg.

I thought about saying that
even if it only gets to the back of the end zone, it will still be 15 yards longer than SeaBass’s kick!
But, from what Gruden said about the 55 yarder, it would have been good from 80!

Still thinking about the list
but I can say this with confidence:
(L) WILL NOT HAPPEN!
Seriously, I simply cannot imagine it. You are talking about missed FGs tons of penalties and turnovers all happening in the same game. This team has too much character to suffer from htat vast amount of fail…

True, Its bound to happen. Denver has only allowed 2 all season, but a good opponents pass rush will change that.

I go with
I.
It will happen eventually. If I had to go with the least likely it would be Moss suiting up for 3 straight games. Hell, I would be happen to see him in one game in a row

Maybe if/when Moss gets moved somewhere besides DE
He might be in more often if that happens.

It'll be interesting to see,
who gets taken out if Moss comes in as OLB. Bailey, DJ, Winborn, Webster?
Or will this position switch retard his development even longer.
We may not see Moss much until next year.

If we are switching to a 3-4
then there is room for Moss.
I would see Winborn being the casualty for Moss’s trial period at LB probably because the others are our current starters. If Moss can bring something that Winborn doesn’t, it could become permanent.

B, E, G, I the only for sure ones.
(B) That is a 150 yard runner. (Shanny will not quit forcing the run until we do)
(E) Denver getting four or more sacks in a game. (We almost had four last game)
(G) Prater kicking a 60 yarder. (He is 4 for 4 outside 50 so far)
(I) Cutler getting sacked twice in a game. (Not that unusual, and bound to happen)
