Pickaxe and Roll

This is a blatant plug for a SB blog that I have nothing to do with (except as a participant). I know it's hard to think about other sports in the midst of Football season; however, for the Nuggets fans out there, there is a great SB Blog called Pickaxe and Roll. The site manager Jeremy does an exceptional job with game summaries and keeping his readers well informed. The game threads are fun (although participation is still pretty limited).

If you do not currently follow the Nugs I'd say they're worth taking a Tuesday or Wednesday night to watch to see if you might enjoy it. The games are a lot of fun and with hometown favorite Chauncey Billups added to the lineup, via a trade for Allen Iverson, they are actually playing some somewhat tolerable defense (Broncos take note). They play the Cavs on Thursday on TNT which should definitely be a great game.

Anyway, as much as I've enjoyed my interactions at MHR and respect the community here, I thought that at least a couple of you might be Nuggets fans who hadn't thought about checking out Pickaxe and Roll .

I've been a Nugs fan since the Alex English days;

however, I didn’t really get into it until the Melo era began. Unfortunately, it seems Melo is kind of a polarizing figure in the sense that some people seem to really dislike him for one reason or another. I’m still a much bigger Broncos fan but now I really look forward to Nugs game and find myself hooting and hollaring just the same!

GO BRONCOS!!!

I had 1/2 a season ticket to the Nuggets while I was in college

That was during the Alex English, Calvin Natt, Fat Lever, Mike Evans and Dan Issel days.

I don’t follow them much anymore (since I live in Lakers country, I don’t get them very often) but like to see how they’re doing occasionally and wish them well as they represent my home town of Denver.

did you google that....

Alex English that is…

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

I remember

When Denver traded McGinnis for English.
I remember the big 3 with English, Issel and Thomspon, then Thompson was traded and the big 3 was with Kiki

I really glad!

He’s not as exciting to watch as Iverson…but he is MUCH less frustrating. Also, the improvement on defense with him hear is night and day. That is also coming from the team’s increased emphasis on defense.

GO BRONCOS!!!

Plus

Nene is playing good and Melo has learned some defense also. Thank coach K for that

You and I can’t be friends. I’m sorry. That’s just the way it is.

Fear not...

It’s a "safe place’ for Nuggets fans. ;)

I agree with Merman/maid, it is pretty nifty… I wander over there from time to time.
