Quarterback JAY CUTLER of the Denver Broncos and running back ADRIAN PETERSON of the Minnesota Vikings are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on November 6 - 10, the NFL announced today.

Jay Cutler threw for 447 yards and three touchdowns completing 24 of 42 passes in the Broncos' 34 - 30 win over the Cleveland Browns on NFL Network's Thursday Night Football.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 192 yards and one touchdown on 30 attempts in the Vikings' 28 - 27 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Cutler and Peterson were selected from among six finalists in Air and Ground categories.  The other FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week finalists were quarterbacks PEYTON MANNING of the Indianapolis Colts and KURT WARNER of the Arizona Cardinals, and running backs THOMAS JONES of the New York Jets and MAURICE JONES-DREW of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fans voted for more than their favorite players. The weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are also a win for local communities. Along with the player awards, FedEx is making a $1,000 donation in the winning players' names to the local Safe Kids USA coalitions in Denver and Minneapolis to support pedestrian safety efforts. Safe Kids USA is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent accidental injury among children. This season, FedEx plans to surpass the $1 million mark in terms of charity donations they have made to deliver safe kids through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week Awards program.

During the week leading up to Super Bowl XLIII, FedEx plans to announce the 2008 FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year in Tampa Bay. FedEx will also make a special delivery for the Tampa Safe Kids chapter, as well as make a special donation in the winning players' names to Safe Kids USA.

FedEx, the premier global provider of transportation, e-commerce and supply-chain management services, is the Official Delivery Service Sponsor of the NFL, Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. Through the weekly FedEx Air and Ground awards, FedEx recognizes those NFL players who represent the same speed, precision and teamwork that their customers have come to expect from the full range of FedEx air, ground, freight and international shipping services, delivering safer kids in the process. With thousands of trucks out on the roads each day, FedEx is committed to improving pedestrian safety for children, by funding education programs and environmental improvements, from signage and crosswalks to pedestrian walkways near schools and playgrounds.

Congrats to Cutler and Royal

They both had awesome games and the award is well deserved. Like boydy says, we need to take this momentum into Sunday.

The other good thing is now $1,000 will be donated to the local safe kids efforts.

Wait....

They still play football between the Mississippi and the Rockies! I think ESPN didn’t get that memo.

I think it's safe to assume...

the only award our running game will win is from the U.S. Post Office! All I want for Christmas is 1 100 yard rusher. Is that too much to ask for, Santa?

I wish Woody Paige was our coach!

I think Pittman had a hundred yard game against Jacksonville.
