Yes, the play worked the first time, but that is not something you call on 3rd and 2; hand the ball to Hillis and let him go to work. It’s not complicated: run the stupid ball and don’t try to be so fancy.

It's not even Madden
On Madden, I would never run a reverse on third down and 2. Either a straight hand off up the middle, or some kind of pass. There is no reason to do trick plays on third and short. Second and short, absolutely; but on third down you just need to pick up the yardage.

has always been running the ball, after the run game is set, the play action
is wide open. Thats always been Denver football. We need to stick with what has worked!

use to run on a ton on anything less than third and six. Then they would run it again on 4th if they didn’t get it. I miss that attitude. Bates’ stuff is fun to watch, but scary at the same time.

Ok, I can take getting beat physically
We were not a great defense to begin with, and with the injuries it’s hard to say that we have improved. But, what I cannot stand is the amount of mental mistakes that we are making. Dropped passes, jumping offsides on a fourth and 1, false starts gimmick plays on third and short; it makes me sick!
Predictions before the season began: 11-5 and a top five offense (I was probably too conservative).

Defense and ST have played very well, offense needs to make sure Tatum Bell is never allowed to touch a football amd lets have Hillis up the gut, not out wide.

We get the ball for the start of the half. We are definitely containing the running game. We need some adjustments. We need more trust in Hillis. He can carry it. His biggest liability is probably pass protection. Give him the ball and grind out an old fashioned running drive. Atlanta is small. Wear THEM down instead of vice versa.
