Blueprint to Victory executed perfectly.
The blueprint to victory (I posted earlier) was executed to perfection:
The Broncos got a lead.
The Broncos stopped their run game (3.3 yards per rush)
The Broncos forced Ryan to throw 30+ times.
The Broncos did not turn the ball over.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, the Falcons still have not won more than two in a row.
Every one of the Falcon's losses have come after a home victory.
Every one of the Falcon's losses have involved Ryan throwing 30+ times, and Turner being held below 100 yards rushing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of our injuries have been blessings. Woodyard, Larsen, Hillis, Bell are all players.

Succinct and straight to the point.
Clady also clearly won his battle with Abraham which gave Jay a great pocket.
We won all the battles we needed to win.

I knew Clady was going to be special--but I never expected him to be one of the best so fast--many all-pros are in his future.
The best defense is a good defense!

Yeah Mike...
Both the Ryans should at least be considered for the Pro Bowl. They have handled some of the games best with ease.
I am pretty happy with both Clady and Harris….actually, I am bloody estatic!

Abraham had troubles
with both Ryans. He moved to Harris’s side early in the game and couldn’t get through there either!

Great game
One of the most enjoyable games I’ve seen for a while. It was so nice to see the Broncos play mistake-free football as well with Cutler checking down. The return of the running game was also pleasing and there are signs that the line is getting into the ZB groove.
The LB situation is pleasing but problematic, considering the OLB spots are, for all intents and purposes, locked up. I think Webster is the most eminently replaceable, but what to do with Woodyard? If he doesn’t go at MLB, there’s no room for him and I can’t see him as a SAM. If this success continues, we’ll also be able to chalk MLB off of our shopping list next year which would be extremely fortunate. Larsen’s played so well with his opportunities so far, but I’d like to see a little more before I’m willing to say that he’s my guy. Woodyard may also be in the MLB running as well, and his pace will definitely give him a bit of an edge. Either way, we’re incredibly fortunate to have found two guys like those two in the 5th and CFA pool respectively.

Hey Muse...
I think this might be Boss done with Denver. WW will stay strong side LB….they wont use him at MLB as he is too small. Leave Larsen at MLB, and DJ will come in for WInborn. I hope they rotate Winborn in though…he is playing better every week and this might takes some pressure off DJ.
Nice post.

We can useWinborn as a situational LB or an OLB in a 3-4.
If we fully commit to the 3-4 in the off season, we would be looking at an LB corps of Winborn, DJ, Larsen, and Woodyard. The only downside to that is that we would be moving DJ again, this time to an MLB in a 3-4.

I agree, in a 4-3, Winborn would come in.
Both Bailey’s might be trade bate in the off season, and Niko will have to take a pay cut or else get cut. Maybe if we trade both Bailey’s we can get more draft picks to move up and take a stud DL.

Winborn and K2 are good for depth
Webster might be kept for depth, not sure what the Broncos should do with Boss. He has always been productive when healthy, but he has also always been injured. Maybe he should become a Denver RB, he certainly has the injury profile.

Yesterday's Lineup was:
Winborn – SAM
Larsen – MIKE
Woodyard – WILL
I can see Winborn staying in since he’s been backing up Boss (who may be out of a job). The problem is what to do with Woody when DJ comes back and we can only hope that Slowik/Shanny keep Larsen at MLB when Webster is healed (maybe Nate can take Spencer’s place on ST).

This may have been Cutlers best managed game.

Agreed. I was very impressed. One turnover in two games = 2 road wins.

did we actually see
cutler checking down, fake pumping, and looking off receivers?
this was a really great game to watch.
still had trouble on 3rd down (both sides of the ball), and still a little precarious on some plays.
the future is bright. Go Broncos!

Biggest 3rd down problem on Offense
was trying to be too cute!
Hillis was pounding the ball getting the yards so what do we do on third and short? Some gimmicking thing with Royal running a weird end around getting stuffed for a loss and using our speedster running back (Tater Bell) who runs into the back of the line for no gain.
The trickeration has got to stop when we need the yards that we are perfectly capable of picking up using the power rush!

3rd downs calls had a few head scratchers.
Like the first time we had 3rd and 1, and we run Tatum? Makes not sense. Hillis should be the short yardage ball carrier.
Then on another 3rd and short we run a reverse for the second time in a row? Come on man, you can’t do that two times in a row, and why get cute on 3rd down? Do what we do best on third down, let Cutler have a roll out run pass option.
If we convert those two third downs, we probably would have scored more, and out defense would not have been on the field so long.

running Tatum wasn't the problem--running Tatum dowm the middle on his first run---that was the problem.

You hit the last sentence right on the button.
I am very pleased with the way this team has pulled together with all the injuries this year. When this happens, you really find out who you have and what they are made of. We have definatly come together as a team and I think it was in the locker room during halftime against the Browns. It is very good to see this team come together, especially on the road.

different from last week
same heart, for sure, but this win, to me has more validity to it. i mean, a win is a win, but on a scale of wins, this one tells us more about the team than last week did. last week was all heart. gameplan went to crap, injuries, rookies more common then the herp in thailand… but we wanted it more than a browns team in turmoil.
this week we had that same heart, same rookies, but those rookies had a great gameplan that was well executed. they played a team that practiced monday to prep for this weekend.
what im sayin is this week we saw a taste of this teams future. some pretty good ball, ya know?

I agree. I am voting for both of them and either Jake Long or Joe Thomas for the Pro Bowl at OT for the AFC.

Broncos Defense
The D was great. Remember Chicago at Atlanta a few weeks ago, when they scored and went up by a point. Bears kicked off with 11 seconds left, and Atlanta managed enough yards to get the winning FG. Yesterday, Atlanta got the ball back with 4 minutes and couldn’t score. Granted, they needed a TD but still.
