Should I start the Denver DST in FF?
I know this sounds like a strange request, but I want everyone's opinion for my FF team. My "go to" DST is the NY Giants, but they play at Phoenix against the reborn Cardinals featuring the well aged Kurt Warner and two big time receivers.
I just picked up the Denver DST. It wouldn't be unusual in most FF leagues for the Broncos DST to be available, but this 12 team league is made up of Broncomaniacs and you would think that at least one of my worthy opponents would have picked our guys just for nostalgia's sake. BTW, my thanks to Papi for starting this league. After the Falcons game I thought it was worth considering the Denver DST, especially as they will play the raiders at the Mile High.
So, what is your honest opinion of starting the Broncos vs. the Giants? After the Arctic Broncos did a Chiefs imitation and went 1-6, they started applying the lessons learned from the NPLB sessions and went on a 3 game winning streak. I need to keep my fannish sentimentality out of the equation, but I did get big time production from Hillis in the last two games and Graham was a great pickup prior to the Atlanta game.

I've only made the mistake once of starting the Broncos D...Giants are the better bet.
Unless you are playing my team…then please start the Broncos D. :)

Haha-- you don't even know who you're playing?

Step off the ledge
I know we’re all Broncos fans here, but to bench the Giants D for the Broncos is insane. The Giants D causes turnovers (something Denver’s D is allergic to), applies constant pressure (something our D does to themselves), and can shut down any offense in the league (though our D is playing better, we have shown a tendency to turn fantasy duds into studs).
I wish Woody Paige was our coach!
Giants
Kurt Warner can be pressured into mistakes, think of them as a lesser version of the Pats offense from last year. I’d take the Giants D on that still.

I didn't start the league...
I just make the fanpost (It’ll be out later tonight.)
All credit goes to Guru for the creation and upkeep (I think) of the league!

Oh- and start the Giants.
I’m not sold on the Cards’ o-line, but, frankly, I don’t care whose o-line the Giants are playing. I’d take them in a matchup against any offense, any day. Except maybe ours.

Papi an Zap every week I have the same issue
Receivers…who do I start, B.Marsh is a lock, TO is a lock, and now one out of the following, R.White vs Panthers, E.Royal, or D. Jackson (who never has been started yet, due to Royal is WAAAYY better!)
Then at TE Scheffler or Gates vs Indy ?
At running back MJD vs Minn., Ronnie Brown vs Pats, Jamal Lewis vs Hou
I am thinking, BMarsh, TO and Royal, Gates, MJD, and while I like the Lewis matchup Ronnie killed NE last time, gave me like 40 something points, so I have to start him. Right?
If you're in a league like I am
with 2 WR’s, 1 RB, and 1 RB/WR/TE, I would go with this lineup:
WR’s: Brandon Marshall and Roddy White.
White for sure. He’s been amazing in every game this year since about week 4. I would know, I have him, and he’s saved my receiving corps. Feel comfortable with either Marshall or Royal, but not both, as Oakland ia porous against the run and Cutler’s attempts could be limited.
RB’s: Ronnie Brown and Jamal Lewis.
MJD has a bad matchup, and is inconsistent. Lewis has been less than stellar, but he’s picked it up as of late. He didn’t have his best game last week, but I expect him to keep the train rolling as teams begin to focus on Brady Quinn. Brown has been a top fantasy back all year, and should be a must-start any week. Especially when he’s playing against the Patriots.
TE: Take your pick.
Scheffler is Scheffler, and he always plays well against the Raiders. The Colts usually give up big yards through the air, and many go to the TE’s. I’d be more comfortable with Scheffler, but don’t be surprised if Gates has a good game.

Who is the flex? TO
Scheffler is a no go. Gates is staying put. Scheff needs to prove to me he can put up 12-15 weekly. He is hit or miss.
Thanks for the breakdown though, you the man!
Oakland seems ripe for the picking, but
even though I am confident that the Broncos D will do okay, they probably won’t cause too many turnovers. I will be very surprised if they have more that two turnovers and 1 FF and 0 TDs. The ST is overdue for a TD, but we probably won’t get too many kickoff returns due to oakland scoring two or less TDs.
I really want to be loyal to the Broncos, but Warner’s sackability and fumbling make me prefer the Giants DST this weekend. Thanks to one and all for bringing me back from the ledge, I was up so high I couldn’t see if there was a safety net.
The future looks so bright that we're going to need blue and orange sunglasses!
