Around SBN: The cost of firing vs. the cost of retaining head coaches

Calling all Rocky mountain sports fans

Seeing that the Broncos and Nuggets seem to be on an upswing and playing much better, I have a simple question for those of us that follow the Rocky mountian teams.  Which team will have a better season:

1) Denver Broncos

2) Denver Nuggets

3) Colorado Avalanche

4) Air Force Falcons Basketball

5) DU Hockey

6) CC Hockey

7) Mammoth Lacrosse

8) Colorado Crush

Just curious on everybody's feelings, I would have included some other teams like the Buffs, Air Force and CSU football, but their seasons are close to being done.  I might add I love this time of year, and for those of you who haven't checked out a Mammoth game, please go, great fun, pretty affordable, great action, and players are great.  Great fix once football season is over.

Poll may have been more effective if the Broncos were left out of it. :)

Colorado Bias

I wasn’t aware that Colorado teams were the only Rocky Mountain teams out there?? ;)

I voted “other” for the Montana Grizzlies. I’ll be at Washington Grizzly Stadium in Missoula tomorrow for one of the best rivalry games in the country. The Griz are 10-1 thus far and should make a run in the FCS playoffs.

GO GRIZ!!!

Ditto that.

I used to live in Montana, a beautiful place.

If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

Yep.

Jack was a coach for the Griz. I know a few guys in Missoula that played “Little Grizzly” (Pop Warner) football and little league baseball with him. From all accounts he was unstoppable from a very young age (no surprises there).

Note to any Air Force fans:

Congratulations on landing Stephen Welling. I go to high school with him, and I can tell you that he’s a good one. He’s a fighter and always plays with more intensity than the guy across with him. If anyone is an AF fan and wants to swap stories with me about him, just ask! I have more interesting (read: hilarious) tidbits about Adam Burton, who committed to Mizzou, though. I’ll probably make a Fanpost on RockMNation about him once he “officially” commits, but I didn’t see an Air Force blog on here, and since this post mentions Air Force I thought I night as well write something about him here. Also, I’ll do a draft profile on anyone I know (starting most likely with Matt Holt, a linebacker of Nebraska) when they declare. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have someone you know play for the Broncos?

On topic: I voted the Broncos. I’m not really a fan of the NBA, but based on what little I hear about it, the Nugs are at best a fringe playoff team. The Broncos have it going on right now, and they could find themselves in a position to win a couple of playoff games.

Though they have a hot dance team...

If you call what the Mammoth play a sport, I’m makin’ a case for the CU Ultimate Frisbee team. Seriously, tho… Their dance team is pretty smokin.

Not a sport?!

Trust me, just as fast and skilled as hockey, go check out the games, and yes the Dancers rock. I like it more than baseball, hockey, or basketball, more scoring than hockey and as brutal hits as hockey, but to each their own. And I didn’t grow up on it, I went to one game and fell in love with it then started going with some buddies who grew up playing it on the east coast, and trust me, it is a sport.

Really, intermurials, brother

Jim Brown played it in college and was considered the best Lacrosse player of his time, so I am guessing he may have some issues with your definitions.

I'm a definite Rocky Mountain fan--but strangely enough--the Broncos are the only Colorado team I follow.

I haven’t got a clue what other Colorado teams are doing.

The best defense is a good defense!
And last week's young players. Yes!
