Brady Quinn is a tool

but really, I am not feeling so confident in our guys’ heads right now, and that’s what they need to get sorted out to stop playing like crap.

Blast and botheration.

The biggest weapon is self-esteem

Lets see how much of that we carry on this team…

I think if Cutler plays well we will win this game. For some reason I am not too worried about the Defense, I think it has been playing decent the last few games, not just the last Sunday.

by isiddiqi on Nov 4, 2008 12:19 PM MST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Thanks, Romeo

Always nice to spit in a team’s face when they’re down. After, all – weak teams like the Dolpins and Chiefs couldn’t win this weekend, no reason to believe that the Broncos can.

Oh, they did? Hmm….

Let’s hope that Woodyard shows that he can be the weakside starting LB that Shanahan said he could be weeks ago. Winborn had a generally good game Sunday, the parts that I did see, and seems to be playing with some good emotion. Now, if we could only get Larsen a starting MLB gig…Nah. we only have two FB/RB’s uninjured. Soon, though, I hope.

Blitz! He’s a young QB under huge pressure. Blitz, dang you!

Haha, the Chiefs didn't win.

They snatched a loss from the jaws of victory. It was pretty amazing, and my opinion of them has gotten much higher. I think they were the only team in the NFL that could have blown that game.

13-3 next year! Baby!

If not now...

If the D Broncs can’t get up for this game…then when will they? Called out by Romeo…weak.

I can't wait for Thursday

Any Broncos site I go to is either bashing Shanahan, Marshall, Cutler, Slowik or our Defense… Sometimes I just can’t stand some of these comments. This is the only Broncos site that always have positive attitude about the Broncos, a job well done by all of you guys.

Thursday couldn’t come here any slower than it is. Good thing its not Sunday…

Fire them up...

Cmon, this has to light a little fire…We may be down but we are not out. We still have half a season to go. D played pretty well last week which should continue. Hillis and Royal showed some spark. Hopefully we get Scheffler back, and a more focused Cutler. If this happens I don’t think Marshell will care he’s double teamed, we will win. GO BRONCOS!!!!!

Pride and Anger time

These comments may have come at a great time for our struggling team. To disrespect us like that on tv could be just what we need. Time to bring out the attitude and get a bit pissed. We may be in a slump and may have lost some very key players but we have some very hungry rookies biting at the bit to take some heads off, can’t think of a better time and better team to crush. Bring back the old rivalry and break the Browns hearts and backs with a win. It is time Broncos, go kick some azz……………..

is it me

Or is Romeo a dead man walking. There is no way I can see this guy in Cleveland next week. I can understand replacing DA, but wouldnt it be better to do it after they lose to Denver this week. That way he would have 10 days b4 their next game. Thats what Mike did with Cutler. But then again this organization has been a disaster since it came back in the NFL in 1999. I hope his guarantee and Quinn making his first start fires up the defense. I want sacks pressure and picks Thursday.

Bulletin Board Material

Isn’t the Head Coach supposed to be the calming influence over smack talk? You would think that he would be the last person to guarantee a victory since that is going to do nothing but motivate us to make sure it doesn’t happen.

Quite a bonehead move IMHO.

Bulletin Board Material is right

Thanks Romeo. Now if that doesn’t light a fire under the Broncos then I don’t know what will. Quinn has a bullseye on his jersey now. The question is which guy on our team will hit it first.

Do not read into this with anger.

He is their head coach and was answering questions about his teams chances
Whats he supposed to say ……. We suck we should all hold hands together
and jump off a cliff .
If shanny said we were going to beat cleveland you would be behind that
         statement 100% right ?
Do not worry about the crap talk just watch the game and enjoy thursday nite .

by broncosfaninphilly on Nov 4, 2008 4:15 PM MST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i agree

i didn’t see anything close to a guarantee out of this. pretty weak motivational tool, really. perhaps concentrating on something less than 3 turnovers and 10 penalties per game would be a better motivator, but i guess not

You guess not?

What is that supposed to mean? Because we think that it was stupid for him to give us extra motivation (as if we needed it). We all know about the turnovers and penalties, and there is nothing that we as fans can do to help in that area. But when the opposing coach says that a QB making his first career start is going to beat us, it is a motivational tool. He could have said something along the lines of I think he gives us a good or better chance to beat the Broncos, but no, he said “we are going to beat the Broncos” and he said it so matter of factly, like it is a given. However weak it may be, we need all motivation we can get. I personally hope to see Romeo choking on his words by half-time. I think that should be a fans focus, but I guess not.

I'd like to see

Romeo choking on his words at the end of the game as well.

There have been too many times in recent years where he might have been choking on his words at halftime only to have us choking in the second half.

guarantee?

he said “we’re not throwing in the towel, we’re going to beat denver, and that’s what we’re going to do”. he was defending his late decision to insert quinn in his first nfl game in a short week. he is trying to rally his troops, and this statement reeks of desperation. let me ask you this: if shanny said “we intend to beat cleveland on thursday”, would you take that as “shanny guarantees a victory”? where’s the guarantee? crennel didn’t say it matter-of-factly out of disrespect, he said it frankly, as it is their intention to win(and not throw in the towel on the season, which is closer to the truth). your reading too much into this, but if you’re desperate for motivation, whatever. all i would need is the game film from the last few weeks if i was a professional football player. this stuff is overblown and overrated. now, if he looked into the camera and said “i guarantee you we will beat the broncos on thursday”, then that would be a guarantee. see the difference? i do

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU DAVE!

If this team needs any more motivation than what thier record shows, and the recent losses show, or what the coaching staff is supposed to give them, then we are truly a team in BIG trouble.

Clev’s HC was simply trying to motivate HIS team, and i am certain that He had no intention of talking smack. He’s a HC! It is his job to instill confidence into his team. That is all that that was!

I learned math from

a eight foot neanderthal who looked like he was right out of a geico commercial (but he was MENSA, so I actually did learn something), but one time I noticed a picture on his desk of these two BEAUTIFUL women: turns out they were his daughters, and they were both professional models.

Genetics is an amazing thing…

Genetics

No kidding, it’s amazing. When I was stationed at Fort Ord in the late 60’s, I worked for a civilian named Sumner Wilson.. He was short, fat and bald (and had served uner Patton in North Africa) Really good guy. Anyway, his wife was really ugly, but very nice. They had a beautiful daughter. Wonder where she is now,

Motivation????

How much more motovation do our guys need.
We have thrown away 3 games where we could have sewn up the AFC West and put the final nail in the Chargers coffin.
These guys dont know how to get up for big games….Crennell knows this and has now put MORE pressure on our young team, as he knows they have been crumbling from it.
He also knows that our coaching staff does a BAD job of preparing our guys for games and getting them fired up.
I hope I am wrong, but I see our defense being thrown into the position of having to keep us in the game.
