Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

How the Broncos get a bye week.

Four weeks ago, after a very improbable comeback victory against Cleveland on the road, I made a MHR Post pointing out  a very unusual and mysterious alignment at that point for the Broncos and the number 4 (4-4 record, winning by 4,avoiding 4 game losing streak, 4th quarter comeback, Cutler's first 4 hundred yard passing game, Marshall and Royal catching their 4th TDs of the year, and much more).  After that game I predicted on a MHR fanpost how the Broncos would beat the Falcons at home (by holding Turner below 100 and forcing Ryan to pass 30+ times).

After the shocking Falcon's game, I predicted on MHR that the Jets would beat the Titans and they would be set up for a surprise loss to the Broncos the following week.  I was expecting a four game win streak at that point for the Broncos.  Of course I was wrong about the Raiders game, but I believe I might have been one of few who predicted the Titans would lose to the Jets and then the Jets would lose to the Broncos.

My point is not to simply toot my own horn, but to say I believe the Broncos still are destined for a couple of more number 4s.  I will make a couple more bold predictions here now.  The Broncos will not only take care of business this week against the Chiefs, but they will shock the NFL again with a 4th upset road victory in a row against the Panthers.  Then, even though they will have sealed the division at that point, they will then complete an overall 4 game win streak by beating Buffalo at home.

The Broncos will then go into the Charger game 10-5 with nothing to gain.  They will essentially rest most their key players and starters.  The Chargers game will be the Broncos bye week to rest and get ready for Indy.  Of course I predicted the Broncos would go 10-6, so yes I think the the Chargers will beat our second and third stringers, but obviously it will be empty and shallow, and us not even playing our starters will be the biggest slap of all in their face.

Guess what.  As the Broncos enter the playoffs, they will be 4 games away from being SB champions.

LoL a lot of our 2nd and 3rd stringers are the starters now! I wonder if we would field a Pop-Warner team. I’d love to see a 9 year old make crying gestures to Phyllis.

I have good feelings about the Panthers game as well – we are 3-0 against the NFC South.

in the chargers game

I’d love to see the broncos just be all out classy i.e. helping up charger players, no bad personal fouls and good post game handshakes all around. After last year i just want our players to be class acts and just show how immature and just what jackasses the chargers are.
I would also be happy with us kicking the shit out of them and Cutler in as linebacker and drilling phyillis ala lynch and brees in 2005(i think). Then cutler doing the whole crying thing to phyillis.(that’d be priceless)

Not so fast

Would a SD victory over DEN spoil a tiebreaker for you?

No.

The Broncos only need two more victories to guarantee the AFC West, by going 9-7 or better. That’s because the dolts are only 4-8 with 4 to go, so the best they can end up with is 8-8.

for that to happen

SD would have to be on a 3 game winning streak and Denver would have had to lose 2 of 3 for that situation to be relevant. SD has shown nothing to say they can win 3 straight. Most likely they lose in Arrowhead and Tampa

Actually

The Broncos “magic number”, to use a baseball analogy, is 2 games. Any combination of Bronco wins and Dolt losses will give us the division.

Wow

You are doing well with the predictions. Your predictions for the finish of the season are pretty bold, but I hope they’re right. All of the scenarios are VERY possible. Go Broncos!

I'm not a fan of resting players unless they are hurt

I think it kills momentum, I rather have us bulldoze San Diego and then rest our starters in the 2nd half after we are up by 28 points.

Haha - that wcracks me up every time!

But yeah – play your starters. Play the game like week 3 of the preseason. Play the starters deep into the 3rd quarter, then pull them.

Preparation calls for totally looking past the game (maybe focus on pass-protection and other health-related tactics) and prepare for the playoffs…

I think...

a win against KC would taste best right now. Payback baby!

I like our chances against Carolia as well...

they will be on a short week following a huge divisional game on MNF. Hopefully they win in dramatic fashion and come out flat against us. If that happens, we will steam roll them.

I am predicting

after Sunday we can call the Broncos AFC West champs. I dont see SD beating the faders. SD has quit and its oh so evident. Their OL is a mess, the WR’s drop gimme balls and their secondary blows (except for Jammer).

Um.... Guys...

Remember we’re BRONCO fans. That means that we don’t do what we’re supposed to. According to the media we’ve all but sewn up the playoffs… ALL BUT! We’re going to do what the Broncos always do. We’re going to allow the Chargers to linger around for as long as possible. I’d love it to go another direction, but past performance predicts future performance. They’ve been inconsistant. To expect anything but inconsistancy would be foolish. I do think though that we’ll get it done. Maybe even beat Indy (if it’s them) in the Wildcard round.
