Hmmm....If all but two of our guys play from that list I will be extremely happy!

Funny year though

The more beat up we get—the better we play—go figure.

I wonder which RB we will fall in love with this weekend?

The best defense is a good defense!
And last week's young players. Yes!

Which ones will be healthy for the following week?

"Darrell Hackney hooks up with Chad Jackson on a 63 yard pitch n' catch to put the Broncos up by 21. San Diego would add a late TD, but Denver was in total control. They finish 11-5 with the 3 seed and have a playoff home game against New England. Tom, who would have thought that Denver, loses to Oakland and K.C., but winds up the the # 3 seed!" "Well, when you look at the Denver Broncos, what stands out is that offensive line and Jay Cutler. If they're on, only Pittsburgh really has a shot at stopping that offense." - Week 17

Panthers Injuries?

Do they not report their injuries this early or something, because that is ridiculous to only have two. We have lost that many starting RBs (ignoring the second string and FB that went down).

Go Broncos!

Yeah the Panthers are one of the injury free this year

Their IR consists of Dan Connor, a 2008 draftee at linebacker (without him the backing core looks pretty darn good) and Ryne Robinson, a second year wide receiver who had four receptions last year (although he did do well on punt returns, but this year they’ve got Mark Jones doing better in both return categories).

just noticed

10 out of the 15 injuries are knee or groin issues. are these a common injury, or maybe something to this? just trying to figure all the injuries out and see if there is a common thread. we’ve been really banged up the last 2 seasons, and seem to get a ton of hamstring injuries, too, but i believe they are more common. conditioning problem, fragile players, or a long string of bad fortune?

hear me, perpetrators of bread crime, your punishment is at hand.

I was thinking the same thing

Is this a result of the light duty training camp we run? Is it a symptom of a bad training staff? I think the reason Shannahan started running a lighter camp was the amount of injuries we had in trainng camp. (just guesssing ) I just don’t know of any other team that has had the amount of injuries we have had. Just some thoughts

It may just be

the style of player that we choose to employ: We are looking for the biggest, most athletic players we can find, but we sacrifice size for the athleticism, when we can’t have both. Those types of players tend to “overplay” their own bodies.

The good news, is that experience changes the dynamic for those types of players. Eventually they settle into the limits of what they are able to do, and don’t strain themselves so much…. Think of it like turftoe in really fast “dash” type of runners, it comes with the territory. We ask for a lot from our DBs and receivers in terms of cuts and “swivel” so groin injuries should be more likely.

But all in all, this year is loaded with freak injuries. And 2005 wasn’t that long ago, when we were in the position Carolina is now, with only a handful of injuries on the year.

There are some trends and some possibilities for repairing them, but it probably comes down to good old fashioned LUCK in the end…

Concision in style, precision in thought, decision in life.
