A little comfort
The Broncos has just lost in an ugly manner, and the Chargers are pulling closer. It's understandable if you're feeling a bit blue. But hey, remember, there's always comfort to be found in raider-nation. Look at this post from the off-season (You can't call it the reloading-season when you're talking about the raiders):
http://www.silverandblackpride.com/2008/8/26/601521/oakland-raiders-news-can-t
It's called "Can the Oakland Raiders be the #1 defense in the NFL?". Ok... When you've stopped laughing about this (if it happens) you should actually read the post.
When you've done laughing, there's more. The comments section's even better! I commented on the piece back then, trying my best not to be acused of trolling, so I sugar-coated it for those poor bastards (I know I was wrong about DeAngelo, but hey, a lot of people were... Heck the entire redskin organisation still is).
Even though the run defense was terrible last season and the offense was well short of putting up enough points to force teams to pass on them, the Raiders still had 18 picks. It looks to me that if the offense scores as a higher rate and the run defense plays better then the team has upgraded the interception "potential" to the point where they "can" lead the League in picks
'Nuff said...
"IF" they did that [lead the league in INT's] and DID not make the playoffs, that would be quite abnormal.
Not many fanbases mentions playoffs before their team goes 3/4 - 13/12...
... 6 years in a row...

no comfort in this loss for me--and that doesn't happen from me very often.
The best defense is a good defense!
And last week's young players. Yes!

Agreed Mike Clark...no comfort what so ever. This loss made me feel like the Raiders.

Really
Not that I am happy with he loss, but look this isn’t the Raiders, this is a Carolina team which is playing very well and we didn’t play our best, so I am not that mad as I was versus the Raiders or Chiefs, those losses are inexcusable.

The magic number is still 1.
I probably should have posted earlier but this damned job keeps getting in the way, lol.
But this needs repeating. The magic number is still 1.
We knew it was very possible, likely even, that the Chargers would win and the Broncos would lose this weekend. And that’s exactly what happened. There really shouldn’t be any talk of gloom and doom. Things will work out. This next weekend it is very possible, likely even, that the Broncos will beat the Bills AND the Chargers will lose to the Buccaneers.
Keep a steady keel. Keep the faith. The Broncos are a very young team, still learning how to win, but I think, no, I believe they are going to do it and this next weekend is when it will happen.
And even if it doesn’t, well, we still get to go head to head against the Chargers with everything on the line in their back yard. Now wouldn’t that be a exciting game to watch. These arn’t the Wade Phillips Broncos. These are the Mike Shanahan Broncos. And they will win. Mark my words.
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

Oh, I think it would be the start of a legend, kind of like "The Drive".

The problem is
that if it comes down to the last game to make the playoffs, there will be no way for me to get tickets. If it gets settled this weekend, I’m sure there will be plenty of good seats to be had!

It will be over this weekend
Did ya see the article where the Chargers like to party the night before road games, right? What do ya think they are gonna do in Tampa. This team has quit. Its too bad Herm is a worse coach than Norv or there would be no doubt who will win the West. That being said Denver will win the division in front of the loyal Bronco fans and make 12/28 meaningless. I cant wait!!!!
somethings wrong, Trying to conquer these fears i thought were gone. And it's been so long, I'm dying to live in a world i don't belong

Here's hoping there are plenty of tickets available.
I just think that it’s the moments of greatest adversity that create the biggest legends.
Do you remember what it felt like in that frozen stadium in Cleveland, when the Broncos’ returners muffed the kick and it rolled inside the two yard line? I do. I remember yelling at them to get their butts back there and at least fall on the damned thing because it looked like the Browns might just beat them there. And then, when they managed to finally recover the ball, I remember thinking, “Thank God they at least fell on it.” But I also remember thinking, there was no way they were going to be able to drive it all the way and get the touch down. I mean, I knew it was theoretically possible but not very realistic.
And then, the first couple of plays were almost like nails in the coffin. But then, by some miracle, they managed to eek out a first down. Then, slowly at first, they began to gather momentum. Pretty soon it became evident that the Broncos actually believed they could do it. With each play it became more and more evident that the Browns were begining to believe that the Broncos could do it too. And then, one by one, the rowdy fans of the Browns fell silent as even the most dedicated and ardent began to believe no force on the field that day, was going to stop the Broncos from punching it into the endzone. And then it happened, and a legend was born and the legend grew to become one of the greatest comebacks of NFL history, a story that fans of (almost) every team tell their children about.
But none of that would have been possible without that hopeless ball placement inside the Broncos’ own frozen two yard line.
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!
