The biggest bummer is not play offs....
but the pyschological damage this does to the team……I feel we are let down by coaching consistently. In particualkr, topday when we were all over them and Slowik goes back to his old ways. he is a pathetic DC, and I dont want to hear any crap about him being a players coach…..thats his biggest problem. We need a hard arse in ther that get shit done and teams ready.

Unfortunately we are worse than the Jets. We have led the divison all year, lost to teams we should have blwon out, and basically have pissed games down the drain....we will go down as the biggest chokers of all time, unfortunately!!!!

I would not call it a list...
I would expect some educated opinions. For one, I dont want Bates to leave….he is young and tries to outsmart himself but has a lot of talent.
I would call for Scott O Brien out as our ST has underperformed since he has been here.
I like SLowik as a teachedr but not an DC. He seems to teach the basics, is loved byu players but is horid at game planning and adjustments. Keep him as a coach but not coordinator.
We have obvious weaknesses, and I will wait until tomorrow as emotions are high now, but we need some changes across the board….especially, in my opinion, in coaching staff.

I’ve never seen cutler throw so many lousy passes and the D sucks ballz. It would seem like we’ve got absolutely no chance against the chargers next week, but who knows, this year we’ve lost all of the games at home I thought we’d win, and won all of the games on the road I thought we’d loose.
I have predicted 9-7 ever since the start of the preseason
and I stuck with 9-7 even when we got off to a hot start. We will win next week, so let’s go drink some kool aid and enjoy the excitement of another nail biter. BTW, watching Denver games should help all of us quit caffeine, our hearts get enough stimulation from the inconsistency.

There are no bad teams in the NFL
as fans we judge them by their record, but their opponents know they can win on any given Sunday. That is why I prefer the NFL to the NBA and MLB.

I am very superstitous and when we started talking play offs 3 weeks ago I started getting nervous....
Counting chickens and all that and if there is a team that can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it is the Broncos…..thats just our history.
We have blown games this year we should have won.
The division should have been done by bye week but we lost to Kansas.
Its disappointing but not unexpected.
I have had a pit in my stomach since we started talking play offs….thsi team is as consistent as diahorrea!!!

and the Broncos admitting
that they deflated last week after the chiefs lost, is all the proof we need that they have been sharing in a common attitude, even if only for one afternoon, that they thought they had an AFC West Championship despite the fact that the determining game wasn’t over yet.
Hopefully those illusions have been dispelled…

I can't figure it out either.
I mean the whole season SD was giving us every opportunity to run away with the division and we just couldn’t do it. I know we have a young team and all the injuries, yet there have been plenty games this year where we come out pumped and just taken it. I hope in 2009, Cutler and the Broncos learn how to take care of teams they are expected to beat.

I think a key
to understanding this would be to thouroughly analyze the specific situations where we come out hot, like today, our first drive against the Panthers, our first drive against Jacksonville, and determine what is the main factor behind the team going cold. Our defense makes sense to me: they aren’t really very good, but certain sitautions are better for our playmakers (goalline favored our backing corp of DJ, Nate and Boss, and Woodyard, Larsen and Winborn, while early third down and longs favor our talent at DB) but other situations are disastrous for them (any time they don’t get a chance to rest, or late game drives, due to our lack of depth on defense, and third and short conversions where teams are a threat to pass, due to our lack of a pass rush).
But the offense is an enigma. I can understand when the offense has a hard time getting into a rhythm, but when they come out hot, scoring early, i don’t understand how they can so consistently lose the wind from their sails.

I mean the only way to get cold or go in a slump is if their defense starts to ratttle Jay or sack him several times. However that isn’t the case. He has all the time in the world several plays yet after a 13-0 start (should have been higher) we can’t get anything until the end of the 3rd quarter. Totally weird.

I am not making excuses for soft D, sloppy ST and offensive TOs, but the reality of the injury situation at TB is what it is. We need to be positive and give the Chargers fans a lousy offseason.

after 15 games there should be zero chance of thinking we are something we are not. Saying we are the worst or saying we are the best simply doesn’t hold water. There is too much proof that we are exactly an 8-7 team, playing a divisional rival of equal caliber, for the division crown. It is what it is, and despite the three game lead we held three weeks ago, it has always felt to me like this was how it was meant to be, Denver vs. San Diego ina game that matters.
I just didn’t want to admit that we would have to have some pretty ugly games for things to end up turning out that way. But now that they are over, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be…

Bell/Young were 12 for 36 yards
A lightweight WR had more yards on one play than both of them combined and the QB had to score two rushing TDs. We need Pope or someone to get healthy before next Sunday, then we will not be one dimensional.

We knew we weren't a great team, with all the injuries, we were lucky to be where we are.
If we win next week, we deserve it, if not then, we still have some work to do. Oh yeah, we stil have some work to do, regardless. We will be a good team in the future, but we need more players on defence and a dynamic DC. As we said in the 60’s and early 70’s wait till next year.
