F.U.B.A.R.

Please bear with me; the rant does have a purpose.

Give it up.  Our season is finished.

The Denver Broncos had a three game lead with three games to go and they blew it.  This is a monumental collapse.  Imploded.  Choked.  F.U.B.A.R.  Tell you one thing, this team absolutely hates to do things easy.  It's always got to be difficult.

The only good thing I got coming out of this is that the media and the Chargers and their fans have already crowned San Diego division champs.  Which is appropriate since the Broncos really are dead in the water right now.  I see NOTHING that inspires me going into this weekend.  San Diego rightly deserves to win.  They actually WON every game they needed to in order to give them a SHOT at winning this division.  They have earned this chance, while the Broncos have blown their chance.

I will watch this game, but I have zero confidence in the Broncos ability to win this game.  ZERO.  I can't really blame them...we lost another running back this week.  What is that?  Like 8?  9?  It really is a tall order for us fans to expect to get into the playoffs with such decimation at such a key position.  Yet here we are, one game(still) away from the division title.  It will all come down to Jay Cutler.  Either he wins it for us or he loses it for us.  In the end, he will either be a hero or just a great football player who was asked to do way too much for an injury riddled team with no running game and no defense.  Win or lose he will still be my MVP for 2008.

That ends my rant.  Whatever tone this rant gave you all; know that I am both angry about and understanding of the situation this team has found itself in.  It is hard to balance the two feelings because they totally contradict each other...but it is what it is.

A message to San Diego Charger fans: Be glad you are healthy.  The Broncos have done far more with far less this year and you had better be prepared for the shit storm you will find yourselves in next year.  And it ain't over yet!!!

San Diego deserves to win?

Think about what you are saying man! The game still has to be played!

Love the tags by the way. Venting in a posts tags should be part of a standard 7 step program for getting over a loss.

Concision in style, precision in thought, decision in life.

I said deserves to win, because they ARE taking care of business.

Don’t get me wrong, I want the Broncos to win. I was speaking from reality as it stands now…if the Broncos win on Sunday then they deserved to win the division. I let it all out emotionally…had too. I feel much better now actually.

I could have kept going with the tags, but oh well. lol

This is my GAP, there are many like it but this one is mine. Without my GAP I am useless, without me, they will run through my GAP. I will protect my GAP and have my brothers back on his. I will not be moved from my GAP, I am a crazed dog that patrols this area and will defeat all who entire it. I own this GAP, it is mine. I bought it with blood and sweat. I will not be pushed. I will not be moved. This Sunday I will make a stand and a statement.

I agree with you on the fact

that I really don’t have any confidence in the Broncos to win this game. I mean all the momentum they gained when they went up by 3 games is competly gone. That doesn’t mean I won’t be jacked up for the game and hoping we beat these stupid Chargers (As each day passes I dislike them more and more).

I know we are a young team that is still learning to win when they are expected to, yet I still can’t believe we choked this one. True we still have one more chance, however we shouldn’t have let it get this far. If Denver does lose to SD, then I will personally not care about the playoffs other than hoping SD loses.

Oh and Zappa, I love the last sentence and all those tags you put up.

I despise the Chargers.....I am a San Diego native, and this current Charger team bugs the crap out of me.

Plus I’ll have to endure the bullcrap my family will put me through(90% Charger losers)…not to mention I will be IN San Diego for that game. (crappity crap crap)

I am an San Diego native as well

and I am receiving plenty of crap from my friends and co-workers. I just can’t stand the Chargers and now that this game means something this week will be horrible because I will have to listen to them all week. I haven’t got tickets, yet I am hoping I will get the company seats where my dad works.

It is called Chiefs' Burgers and Brew

and is located in Solana Beach, just about 20-30 minutes from where I am. It is a cool place and I just found out about it last year. A friend of mine told me there is one downtown, however he doesn’t know the name of it.

I was stoked when I found out about it because I have been hoping for some time that there would be one down here.

I have heard

I did sign up for the contest at Cheetas. To get 2 strippers to accompany me to the game and $100 free crap at the bullpen. But I have not heard from them so I dont think I won. I would be so nice to roll up to the game in a limo and 2 strippers. =)

I actually like our mind-set heading into SD

We like pressure, they are overconfident heading in. It will be a great game. I really believe that.

by rururuland784 on Dec 21, 2008 11:55 PM MST reply actions   0 recs

Totally agree

He looks like snotty little rich kid who cries when he doesn’t get his way. And that’s when he’s winning. :D What bugs me is how much they have to show him on the sidelines. He’s not even involved in a play and the networks are scrambling all over themselve to come with reasons to show him on TV. Hate him!!

I am in agreement with Zappa’s post, I have no faith that the Broncos can win this game, but I hope they will. On the other hand, I had little faith they could beat Atlanta and the Jets too, maybe that’s a good omen. (OMG, what has this year come to when I’m looking to omens)

I’m trying to look at it as a win-win. If we win, great, I’ll be ecstatic and I’ll be yelling at Phyllis through the TV. If we lose, we get a better draft pick than SD. I hope that we take they guy they want. :D

San Diego

I hate San Diego. I want to get fired up to beat them, but it is hard because this race should be OVER!!!! This game shouldn’t mean anything. I don’t know how much of this game I will watch.

by PABroncofan on Dec 22, 2008 5:12 AM MST reply actions   0 recs

I agree Zappa

It is over. We are done. We will lose to San Diego. We just will. I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch. This has been a New York Metsesque collapse. I want to throw a positive spin anywhere I can but I just cant.

Someone answer me 2 questions:

Why did the defensive pressure just all a sudden stop? I’m not sure when it happened but I think it was sometime after the 1st quarter. We were blitzing and getting great pressure and the Bills offense could not do squat. The pressure stopped and Buffalo marches up and down the field on us.

What in the hell was with the pooch kick to the 30 yard line right after we had taken the lead late in the game?!?! Which they proceeded to run back to the 50!!!I Is our defense so awesome that we were going to stop them from gaining 20 yards to get them in field goal range!?

P.S. Another reason to hate ESPN. This morning the crawler at the bottom of the screen said Jay Cutler threw an incomplete pass on 4th down as time was running out and at the same time Stokley dropped the pass. Yeah ok, which is it? Was it a bad pass from Cutler or a bad play from Stokley? It was neither. I saw it as a great play by the defender to knock it out of Stokley’s hands. I’ve got 2 words for you ESPN…F.O.!!!

Col. Sandurz: Prepare ship for light speed!
Dark Helmet: No, no, no, light speed is too slow!
Col. Sandurz: Light speed, too slow?!
Dark Helmet: Yes, we're gonna have to go right to . . . ludicrous speed!
Col. Sandurz: Ludicrous speed?! Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't know if the ship can take it.
Dark Helmet: What's the matter Colonel Sandurz? Chicken?

+1

I have no answers for you other than the NFL got what it wanted….a do over between Denver and San Diego. The Ed Hochuli call is moot now. Though I do have more faith than you…we beat San Diego earlier this season. And we are a better road team than a home team. :)

On your two questions....

I have no freakin clue. I was like WTF? I mean finally we were getting pressure early and their offense couldn’t do a thing.

The pooch punt is absolutly STUPID. It is just like the squib kick because it seems like it prevents the team from getting a good return, yet one move and they are at midfield. Just kick the ball like nornal where they catch it at the 5 or it’s a TB.

Well, I have no idea what fubar means but it sounds like a good description for our current situation.

I’m not even sure if I’m giving up or hanging on. Why we gave up on our game plan yesterday is beyond my reasoning. The only thing I can say is—in fact I don’t know what to say.

I know I hate the fact that we may have just put phyllis in the playoffs—therefore I won’t believe it until it happens.

Therefore I am going to believe that we will win this game.

The best defense is a good offense!

Well, I have no idea what fubar means

You should watch Saving Private Ryan. They do a good job with FUBAR.

To bear up under loss, to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief, to be victor over anger, to smile when tears are close, to resist evil men and base instincts, to hate evil and to love love, to go on when it would seem good to die, to seek after the glory and the dream, to look up with unquenchable faith in something evermore about to be, that is what any man can do, and so be great.

World of crap

I didn’t get to watch the game and, silly me, I didn’t think I’d have to since I assumed we’d win. And you know what happens when you assume. My bad. I should have known. Gag. I’d like to stay positive, but I see a pounding coming. Not a very good football team right now. The game’s switched to prime time I see, so I suppose I’ll have to watch, probably at least until halftime.

In the warmth of San Diego, the passing game is more dangerous

I give Denver a punchers chance. I hope that DJ lines up at RB. He used to be stud with the rock in college and high school. Better than goofy Tatum. Plus it puts WW on the field in at WLB.

I don't know if San Diego deserves to be a division champ but we don't

I really feel like neither San Diego or Denver should be in the playoffs, both teams have stunk it up this season, if SD gets in then I guess we won’t have to hear the BS about Houcilli call, that being said, no way will I rout for Denver to lose, if Denver loses the game then so be it, I ain’t going to be sad if we lose or happy if we win, because lets face it, we will likely lose the 1st round of the playoffs if we do win.

this week, or next week

we will get destroyed, so what’s the difference? i was confident we would win this game, and play like it. and we did, for about a half or so. the return of the Show Blitz(and champ), a good running game, and big plays all around. winborn, not my favorite lb, played like he was on steroids, leading the defense. then, we got scared after a first-down pass by buffalo off the blitz, and that was that. when we got down by 3, they acted like it was 14, and aired it out again. the pooch kicks, come on. this team operates much better in go mode on d, and with more patience on o. and i’ll be the one to say it, the officiating continues to infuriate confuse defy all logic this season, and it has been a major factor in several losses. enough said there.

i absolutely, positively cannot put this loss on the players. slowick backers, it looks like the ‘slo must go’ campaign begins next monday. o’brien, grow a chin, or get some more guys that can tackle if that’s your concern. bates, i am willing to give a pass this season, it is his first year, and he has done some real good things, mostly without a decent rb. also, i believe with hillis and whoever next season, we will have the balance to move the ball either way, and he will use that balance. he’s young, and will, too, improve. slo, you have 1 game left to show us you have the balls to put away an opponent on its heels. buffalo sucks, and if you are giving them any credit here, you are beyond repair. if we sit back in this final game, it is over. final note: does anyone here believe this upcoming game will be fairly officiated? i am not kidding, i would like to hear your thoughts on this. good luck broncos, but honestly, if it’s close, i don’t think they are going to let us win it. personally, i don’t think it will be close enough to matter if we don’t put the petal to the metal and knock the snot out of rivers. tatum bell, your up. cell phone salesman, or professional rb(somewhere else). no pressure.

hear me, perpetrators of bread crime, your punishment is at hand.

I'm no Pollyanna.

I think I’ve got a pretty good bead on reality. Things never looked so grim. Almost the entire running game is on IR. The defense is near the bottom of the league. Everybody knows the Broncos don’t have a chance.

So what the hell? Go for it.
