It could definitely be worse
During the third quarter of last night's game, my lady-friend texted me and said "It could be worse." I texted her back with "Sure it could be worse. I could have accidentally stabbed myself in the testicles while cutting an apple, AND the score was 38-13." THAT would be worse, you have to admit.
But imagine, if you will, how it feels to be a fan of the Jets, Buccaneers, or Cowboys today. Those are 3 old veteran teams which faded down the stretch. There are already reports that Eric Mangini is getting whacked this morning, and Wade Phillips is almost certain to, as well. When you have a team that is built to win a Super Bowl now, and you choke, that's a bad feeling. When you're the Broncos, and you're BUILDING, rather than BUILT, it still sucks, but you're pretty fired up for next year.
Just some perspective.

Amazing!!! best fanpost of the year hands down...
TedBartlett has somehow overcome the 75 word limit to pull off the gem of the year…Less really IS more… :D
in all seriousness am I missing something, my computer shows no actual content on this one.
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

damn...
there it is, I was really hoping someone had found the secret to overcoming the 75 word minimum…I guess not.

Good point
it is much worse to be here in NYC as a Jets fan…they have no QB, an old team into which they poured a ton of money, and now – no coach!

I wonder sometimes if we...
as fans, take the losses harder than the players. I think we have more invested emotionally in the Denver Broncos than any of the players do.

Sure.
It could be worse, but it should be better. We’ve gone from 13-3 and hosting the AFC Championship Game to 24-24 since with a deteriorating defense and an inconsistent offense that can’t possibly overcome it, not to mention the special teams that remain this team’s hidden weak link. Meanwhile, the game of musical chairs played with our coaching staff continues to leave us with less than desirable jokers running the team’s units. We’ve turned things around in the draft, but free agency has likely been a net negative recently. And, on the whole, this franchise isn’t likely to change directions any time soon, so there isn’t much reason to hope for better.
The Jets seem like a prime landing spot for Bill Cowher (probabl;y the best coach available), the Browns will target the Pats front office for a new GM (worked for the Falcons) and the Bucs, well, they could still have another run left in them if they can settle on a good, veteran QB. Don’t confuse uncertainty wth reason for dispair. I wouldn’t say that I’d trade positions with them, but they’re certainly far from hopeless and we still have a long way to go before we get to where they are now or vice versa. I appreciate the sentiment behind the post, though, so thanks for trying to cheer us up. No matter what, go Broncos!

Dallas
Jimmy Johnson on the FOX late show: “The Cowboys have a collection of toys, but they don’t have a team.”
To bear up under loss, to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief, to be victor over anger, to smile when tears are close, to resist evil men and base instincts, to hate evil and to love love, to go on when it would seem good to die, to seek after the glory and the dream, to look up with unquenchable faith in something evermore about to be, that is what any man can do, and so be great.
