Is there anyway we can sign Michael Bush away from the Raiders

I've been campaining for a while on this site about the need of a feature back. Which we are all aware we are in desperate need of. I want to start a push for Oaklands Michael Bush. He would've been a first round pick but was hurt the first game of the season. He lead the country in rushing TD's his junior year at ..." The VILLE"   He was picked in the third round of the 06 draft. I don't know what his rookie contract say or how many years is on it. But this would give us the running power we're used to having in Denver. A guy that will fall forward 2-3 yards when he's tackled hard.

Basically the west coast brandon jacobs. A downhill runner with good lateral moves. Think about it and let me know what the rest of Our Bronco Nation thinks.

Can we get him? Should we get him? YES WE CAN.

Can we, maybe...should we, NO WAY

Sorry, but we have Hillis. We have Torain. We have Pittman. We have some speed guys. I really think Hillis is our power back answer…his injury was a fluke and he runs with authority.

I don’t want breakaway speed. I want break-some-poor-fool-as-I-bowl-you-over power getting 6 yards off a play that should have been stopped for 2 at most.

yeah

we don’t need a running back. I don’t understand all the clamoring for RB, Hillis, Pitman, Torain, Young and Bell if need be are enough. The others are question marks, but there is talent there and I don’t think they are all going to get injured again.

Bush...

….just finished year two of a standard 4-5 year rookie contract.

To bear up under loss, to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief, to be victor over anger, to smile when tears are close, to resist evil men and base instincts, to hate evil and to love love, to go on when it would seem good to die, to seek after the glory and the dream, to look up with unquenchable faith in something evermore about to be, that is what any man can do, and so be great.

I could be wrong...

but don’t you have to be picked in the top fifteen overall to get a 5 year deal?

I think Bush would be a huge improvement over some of the options we have in the stable, and with every passing year, Crazy Al gets a little more crazy, and he just may intertain trade offers. Hard to try and second guess the tactical mind of Al Davis.

top 15

can get up to 6 years. But Bush signed a 4 year 2.16 million deal. So he is half way thru it

somethings wrong, Trying to conquer these fears i thought were gone. And it's been so long, I'm dying to live in a world i don't belong

I am with you

I think Bush has a three year contract but he will be a restricted free agent, so depending upon what Oakland offers him, the team that signed him would have to give up a draft pick. But I like Bush, he will be the third spoke in Oakland, and I am sure he wants to get out of there, but I am sure Davis will do whatever is possible to limit Denver getting their hands on him.

I think Bush has a four year deal...

and it was also heavily reported in this area (Sacramento) that he was on the trading block. Just before the trade deadline was up the raiders had a deal in principle to send him to the chargers, for a second day pick. Maybe CrazyA was just trying to get his fourth rounder back that he spent to get him.

by donbok1 on Dec 29, 2008 3:59 PM MST up reply actions

That may be

And Davis may want to let Bush go, since he has Fargas and McFadden, and I think he’d look great in blue and orange, but I bet there’s no way Al will let him go to Denver.

4th rounder

I’d gladly give up a 4th for Bush. He’d have been a 1st round pick two years ago but for his broken leg, and he’s totally healthy now. I doubt if the Raiders let him go for anything like a 4th.

How about a fourth, and that Jamaican cat, Usain Bolt?

Crazy Al would give us this year’s entire draft and Bush,McFadden, and Russell if we could somehow do a sign and trade with that guy.

With Oaklands glut at RBI have the sense that he was being showcased.

They would like to trade him before they cut him. Teams got a glimps of what he can do and now the phone may ring for a fourth rounder. It is actually something smart the Raiders did, for once.

IM NOT THE ONLY ONE when everything is lost that doesn't surrender
