Anyone going to the Carolina game next week?

I know I am jumping ahead a bit and I am definitely not overlooking the Chiefs, but the recent fanposts from people at the Jets game got me excited.  I am flying down to Charlotte for the game on Dec 14 and would love to meet up with some other Broncos fans beforehand.  I will be meeting friends down there and I assume we will be tailgating (especially now that it has been moved to a 4 pm start).

Anyone else gonna be there and want to try and get together before the game?

I really need to buy a digital camera

The damn blackberry just doesn’t cut it. Hopefully someone down there will have one.

I'll be watching at home

with a friend that’s a Panthers fan, so it should be fun.

I’m still trying to get tickets for the SD game.

I am sure

there are some tickets available for that game and there should be plenty in the next week or so.

checks craigslist and the UT

these clowns had to have Fox 5 buy up the remaining Tix for both the faders and falcons to avoid the blackout. So when SD loses tomorrow it will look even better for 12/28

Thanks

In the past I’ve used StubHub (bought the tickets in August and they 2nd Day FedEx’d them to me even though the game wasn’t until late in the season!) in the past and paid WAY too much for the seats that I got. I’ve checked TicketMaster but I can’t get their little map thingy to load correctly.

I’ll try the UT this afternoon.

i thought it was the NFL Network

who bought up the tickets for the riaders game since they are the ones broadcasting it. Don’t mind Fox or other networks doing it, but the NFL Network (which is owned by the NFL) doing it is kinda shady if you ask me. But they donated the tix to various military charities so I wont complain (much).

by MattR on Dec 3, 2008 1:38 PM MST up reply actions   0 recs

It is

But the game will be shown on a local TV station in each market the game is played in. So the local Fox affiliate can broadcast the game here locally. It will be the NFLN feed but on a local TV. (There are rules about this that I dont know about completely) But no matter the game was short around 1000 tix even with a 24 hr deadline. I dont know what they do with the tix, the city od SD use to give them to elementary schools. Plus only half of the cable subscribers in SD county get the NFLN. This is an issue the NFL needs to fix. Only Cox Cable offers the NFLN, while Timer warner here does not (which services North of the City of SD)

oh I know all about it

remember the uproar with the Pats-Giants regualr season game last year?

I just think there is something wrong with the NFL itself guaranteeing a sellout to one of its teams. Basically, the NFL just gave the Chargers $50K (which is really peanuts in the grand scheme of the NFL which is why I don’t care too much)

I was hoping for a blackout

That would have been cool on 2 fronts. Screws the NFLN and the locals here

Those tickets will be donated.

Blackout averted
As expected, NFL Network stepped forward to ensure the purchase of enough tickets to avert a local television blackout of tomorrow’s game.
The network will donate most of the unsold tickets to pre-selected local military personnel and soldiers recovering at Balboa Navy Hospital. Tickets will remain available for purchase up through game time at 5:15 p.m. tomorrow. The game also will be broadcast locally on Fox Channel 5/69.

It is funny that the NFL Network lifted the blackout by buying the remaining tickets, yet a majority of SD won’t be able to watch the game. Kind of funny, huh, Like you I was hoping for a blackout as well.

I do know

That I can see Denver play KC this weekend now. It pains me to do this but I will be rooting for the faders tonight. (lesser of 2 evils – I NEVER thought I would ever say that about the faders) That way Denver can clinch on Sunday

I have to do the unthinkable as well

I’ve got the faders in all three of my pools!

Plus when the faders win

The tickets for Dec 28 are gonna be cheap. Case in point fans cant even sell their fader/whiner tickets for tonight. Some are cutting the price in half. Just think how cheap they will be when they are out of the playoffs. =)

I'm worried that the Hochuli revenge factor

might bring more of them back specifically against the Broncos.

It will be sweet to see them lose tonight, though!

I was thinking that also

but listening to the apathy here I doubt it will happen until next season. These myopic people here actually think the faders have a rivalry with SD. (I heard someone on the radio call it the best rivalry west of the Mississippi) They cant even sell out a must win game on so called natl tv. Its so typical for SD. Bad for them Good for us

I would love to link up. I am driving to the game. This will be my first live NFL game.

I wanted to save it for a home game in denver. But my dad gave me the tickets for a Birthday present. I am pumped.

Don't feel too ashamed. ;)

I lived 90 miles from Denver for the first 24 years of my llife, and never made it to a Bronco game, even tho I did try and get tickets for the 2005 AFC Championship game, but as you all know, ticket scalpers/resellers bought every ticket within 5 min of them going on sale.

I really wish I had gone to one at the old mile high tho. I’ll never get that opportunity again.

Anyhoo, my first Bronco game live, Broncos – Dallas preseason last year up in Dallas. The the Bronco – Texans game last Dec. in Houston.

And they lost both.. Stupid Broncos ;)

Wish I could

I live in Raleigh and was licking my chops when I saw Denver was playing here this year but it was the wife’s turn to go to a game (Oakland at Baltimore) and I’m all tapped on the discretionary cash flow.

well, gas is getting cheaper and Raleigh and Charlotte are not that far apart

so in the unlikely event that I run into someone who is having trouble giving away a ticket, I will send you an email :)

I'll be going, but...

I’m driving over from Raleigh on the day of the game, so I probably won’t be getting to the stadium until close to gametime. I rarely see any Broncos gear around here, so it will be interesting to see how many fans we have in the staduim.
