New-ish here

Hey folks,

I have been lurking off and on here for a while and have decided to start posting more, I hope I can contribute positively to the discussion.  Since I haven't been around much, please let me know if any of my posts are re-hashing old subjects that have been beaten to death, etc.  Also are there any ground rules here or anything, beyond the basic SBN stuff?

I am a 12-year Broncos fan, but over that span I haven't paid much attention to the off season and personnel management, mostly I have just watched the games.  I'm hoping to change that as it will give me something to do during the NFL off-season, and I enjoy following baseball player deals and off-season shenanigans (highly recoment LL if you are a Mariners fan).

I grew up in Boise, ID and hence have a tendency to be a Plummer fanboy, which I will do my best to keep to a minimum...I have fond memories of his '04-'05 seasons (especially the win over NE, so so sweet) and try to block out his '06 collapse from memory as much as possible, though it's why he's not playing anymore.

Also being from Boise I'm a huge BSU Broncos fan and am stoked that Denver picked up Clady and he had an awesome season, and was intrigued to see Putzier back on the roster at the end of '08.

That's it, I'm in Seattle and have never been to a Broncos game in person...hoping to make the trip to Invesco sometime in the next few years.  Also if the NFL doesn't re-jigger their scheduling algorithm, Denver will come here in '10, which I will absolutely go to.

I'm fairly new, too, but I bid you welcome. :)

My name indicates where I’m currently residing. I’ve been a huge Bronco fan for over 20 years. Man, I’m getting old. :)

I think I remember...

the user name back in the old MHR days, before the upgrade. One of the early members, if I remember correctly. In any case, WELCOME!!

Welcome.

I’m a Gators fan, but I’ve had a soft spot for BSU for a while now! I’ve also never been to a Broncos game (closest to Denver I’ve come is a connecting flight in Las Vegas), so we have a decent bit in common. Most importantly, we’re all Broncos fans and this place is very welcoming, so happy posting!

Welcome.

Right on time. You can remember when Shanahan was fired and the Broncos hadn’t been to the playoffs in three years and etc.,etc.,etc.

Then you can rejoice about the new crew coming in and bringing the best franchise in football another Super Bowl ring! And another! Etc., etc., etc.!

All Ready!

It's weird, we say hello to one person and good-bye to another...Mike Shanahan.

Welcome newcomer and hope you enjoy MHR. It is an awesome website.

Haha

Yeah, it’s kind of ridiculous to mention myself in the same sentence as Shanahan, thanks!

I am from the Idaho Side of YellowStone

So I too love the Boise State Broncos. I go to Broncos games every couple of years. My Dad grew up in Denver in the 50’s and 60’s and never lost his love for the Orange and Blue. And he past on his addiction to his Children and we are all doing the same to our kids. This year I took my boys to the home Raiders game. The weather was cold and the game play was worse. But we had a great time. Whats up with your User Name? Do you grow apples or something? Yum… Washington apples.

My image is the Circa 1960-’61 Broncos home uniform sock. Some what folk lore to me ... but referred to as the clown sock by my Dad.

Username

Is a reference to a Blink-182 song, and also the fact that I occasionally use Suave apple shampoo (stuff is cheap, but I like it). I started using the name in college and it has stuck.

Welcome welcome!

I have to say, I’m impressed at your post. You do really well for a 12 year old (meant as a compliment, not as a put-down…that’s not what we do here of course).

I used to live across the water from Seattle. Small world!

I don’t want breakaway speed. I want break-some-poor-fool-as-I-bowl-you-over power getting 6 yards off a play that should have been stopped for 2 at most.

I'm not actually 12 years old

That is when I started being a bronco fan…I am actually 24. Sorry if that was confusing.

Welcome, I love Boise, favorite town west of Denver.

Welcome Apple!

I’m also from Idaho, just north of Salmon. I went to college down by Boise, in Caldwell, and have always been a huge fan of Big Blue. Ryan Clady turning into the pro he has become has been the start of a sort of “Golden Era” for me.

Funny thing, I lived in Seattle for a while too, as it was the home port for the fishing vessels I worked on, and now I am in Alaska, and the Broncos, in some way shape or form have always been a constant for me, regardless of where I have went. The greatest team in the NFL makes a great backdrop for good and adventurous living, and I hope it turns out that way for you too!

Concision in style, precision in thought, decision in life.
