That's what happens when their defense scores...

Let's get the stop here...

…and run the ball. We need a high proportion of run over pass if we are going to start acting like a playoff capable team.

Off immediate topic...

I don’t really understand all the Bates playcalling critics. Especially the first quarter scripted stuff. Ted had a great write up about the game planning of Shanny and all agreed, but when it doesn’t go well Bates takes the blame???

The problem with 3rd is that the Broncos couldn't challenge the spot.

Because it wouldn’t affect the down, it was bulletproof. That made 4th much easier to obtain.

ButteBronco

Bates has been calling a college spread system this year in the games we’ve lost. He’s forgotten to run the ball. Note that we gave the ball to our RBs and we started gaining downs and a score. Note also that our power running game won in NY. We win when we run, and yes, Bates has been foolish.

Right on...

I thought the whole NYJ game was run out of the spread formation, single back.

Ooolso,

does Bates game plan or just call plays? I was under the impression that shanny still made the game plans.

Single back formations...

but a west coast offense, not a spread system.

Thanks man,

I’m just a fan that watches the games, never played, never coached. I don’t know the lingo that well. I wasn’t aware that spread system and west cost offense were mutually exclusive. To me when I see primarally three and four WR formations, I call it “spread” becuase the defense is spread out.

Forget the refs.

This is what happens when a team runs down the throat. If we stop them, we shouldn’t have to worry about the ball spot.
