Where do we go now? (a prequel)

After crunching salary cap numbers for quite a while, I took a deep breath, stepped back and looked at the Broncos roster.  I was trying to figure out what other work needs to be done before minicamps open.  I am ignoring money for the moment and looking at number of bodies and their talent.  Before delving too much further, I wanted to solicit some opinions on a starting point.

Below are listed each position as well as a number range.  The low number in the range is the minimum number of players I think Denver will keep at that position.  The high number is the number of players I think Denver would want in training camp to legitimately compete for a position on the final roster.  Let me know if you think the numbers are reasonable or how you would tweak them?  One these numbers are set, I will compare them to what we have on the roster right now.

QB (3-4)
RB (5-8)
WR (5-8)
TE (3-5)
OL (8-12)
Offense (24-37)

DE (5-8)
DT (5-8)
LB (5-10)
CB (4-7)
S  (4-7)
Defense (23-40)

LS (1)
P  (1-3)
K  (1-2)
Special Teams (3-6)

Total (50-83)
