How bad do we miss G. Warren now?
I'll tell you what, our D-Line would look a heck of a lot better with Big Money at DT. I said back when the "mastermind" traded him to oakland that it was one of the worst moves shanny has ever made, and i still feel that way. Shanny traded him because Warren "didn't fit into what we were tyring to do here." So we simply traded our best DT to a division rival because he didnt fit into the scheme, how absurd. And what makes it even worse is that defensive scheme was sent packing at the end of the year. I would give that crappy 5th round pick back to the Raiders in a second to get back Warren. Yet another head scratching move by Shanny.

Apparently,
$36 million is worth it in your mind for Warren? How about $52 million? ;) How do Thomas Kelley's stats measure up to "Big Money" over the past few seasons?

It was a bad trade
Whether it would have been worth it to keep him around for the last 3 years of his deal at 4 to 4.5 million a year is another question. And whether it was worth it to give Warren the big bonus when he signed the contract is yet another.
But given that Warren was traded because he did not fit the Bates scheme which was then scrapped a couple months later I think it was a bad deal.
