The Future Is Just Days Away!!! MHR 2.0 Will Be Yours Monday!!!

I am very excited to FINALLY give you all a sneak peak at SB Nation 2.0. 2.0 is the latest upgrade that will occur for all of the network's blogs, and the new features are just plain awesome. As of now, all the Baseball blogs have been updated as well as several of the NBA sites. Now it is our turn with MileHighReport scheduled to upgrade Monday, just in time for the 2008 NFL Draft! A few of us have been playing around with(read - testing) an updated version of the MHR on the secure test network for months, and we LOVE it.

One key feature, which everyone here will love, is a universal user name for all SB Nation blogs. No more registering for each and every blog. You create one user name and password, and then subscribe to the blogs you want to contribute to. The blogging tools are much easier for blogging novices, and new tools allow fans to post pictures and upload videos.

In short, it is an amazing upgrade that was CUSTOM BUILT by our tech guys.

To see a preview of SB Nation 2.0, check out any of the blogs below, or any of SBNation's baseball or basketball blogs! -

The contributors will be spending time over the weekend getting everything ready for the big Grand Opening and I will be available Monday for any questions, comments, concerns you may have --

As with any change it will take time to get used to all the new features, but if the new platform does one thing well it is creating more opportunities for you to be the stars of the show.  I have always said the strength of MileHighReport.com was the community and the new site will make that even more apparent.

Take a look, play around, and feel free to use this thread to ask any questions....

It does sound cool.....
I just wonder if we get more trash talking between the rival sites.  How will that affect things?

It could open the doors for more trolls.

Perhaps I could suggest
an MHR university class dealing with Troll etiquette.  Basically I think there is a right way and a wrong way to respond to troll attacks, while maintaining the integrity and focus of the community.

What do you think, HT??  It would make great filler for the post draft era...

I wish my sig was as cool as mdierks!

Good idea
I have the interview for this weekend, and I've got a story on 3-4 systems coming up too.  I might fit in an extra edition on "troll defense", both in terms of what to do (like contacting the editors) and how to "negotiate" (buy time until the MHR SWAT team arrives).  : )

Athletics Nation
was the first to switchover and has been on the new version for a few months.  I anticipated that there would be a huge upswing in trolls, but it has been completely minimal.  So hopefully that trend may continue here on MHR.

Also, I absolutely HATED the new version at first and was really freaked out.  Of course, now I hardly remember the old one.

That's encouraging.
It's good to see you around again, broncoette!

I personally displike the A's, but on the flip side I am a huge Sacramento River Cat fan...perhaps I dislike the A's because they keep stealing all of our best players!! :P

Not Bad
I like the idea of only having to register once.  Integration is always smart.

However, it actually does look a little confusing.  Why can't we have a simple layout with everything in one place and not have to scroll down?  It will take some getting used to, but I think it could turn out pretty nice in the end.  I guess i WILL say it does get the fans involved a lot more with a lot more sections to post videos.

It is different...
and the stats, etc are huge additions.  The Fan Posts and Fan Shots are the stars of the show, however.  Diaries are the heart of MHR.  With that split into two distinct sections we now have a heart AND soul!

This will be great
There's a lot of cool stuff that everyone will really enjoy, and the experience is going to be awesome.  It may be a little tricky at first, but Guru and a couple of the editors that have worked with the beta version are here to help.

Believe me, you're going to love it!

I'm definately excited...
although I was confused, so this change for us happen on Monday??

"Over the summer, they will eventually get to the football blogs, including Mile High Report. A few of us have been playing around with(read - testing) an updated version of the MHR on the secure test network for months, and we LOVE it."

It isn't Summer yet, so I guess that is what confuses me.  We are going live on Monday?  I'm probably just being dense here. :)  If it is Monday then I'll be around for the big partay,

I think
Guru just copied and pasted from the time he announced the sneak preview, which was shortly after the baseball blogs moved over. We were unsure of the schedule for the other sports at the time the majority of the baseball sites changed.

Rockies Cubs
I liked the feel of the Rockies and Cubs sites. I will be REALLY glad to loose the 2007 standings and results.

If you haven't checked
out any of the new sites yet and want to see what the auto-refresh is like, stop by the Row for tonight's contest. We had close to 1500 comments between two game threads last night for that epic 22-inning game.

Ok, I've signed up already for 2.0
and I will have a name change. I will now be The Blogger Formerly Known as Zapparulez. Naw just playin', I will be Zappa instead. I've already "claimed" my old name from here so no worries. I need to claim my name from Silver & Black Pride too, but I can't remember the password. I think its like "raiderssuckass" but that isn't working...I'll keep trying. ;)
