Around SBN: Has Kentucky Improved Since the Non-Conference Season?

What on Earth...?

This is what The Sporting News has up as the projected Broncos draft [subs. req.]:

http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/teams//broncos

2008 Mock draft board

Rd. Pick     Player       Pos.     School

1   12 (12)  C. Williams  T     Vandy
2   11 (42)  D. Jackson  WR     Cal
4   9 (108   M. Moore      QB     Oregon St.
4   20 (119) J. Moore      DE     Nebraska
5   4 (139)  D. Stone      S     Maine
5   13 (148) T. Bain       CB     Hampton
6   17 (183) J. Jones      WR     San Jose St.
7   13 (220) G. Wolfe      RB     Northern Ill.
7   20 (227) J. Palmer     T     Auburn

(Sorry for the whacky layout, I can't seem to fix...)

I'm not sure what to make of this.  My first reaction is, if the Broncos draft this way, I may just skip this year. Let's hope the offense (with , what, five QBs if this is accurate?) is able to keep up with whatever offense is playing our defense.

I guess The Sporting News is projecting we'll be trading for or signing a free-agent DT.

I should add that I'm down for the first two picks (though I'd prefer a different WR at that point), but I'm lost after that.

Reactions? Explanations?

Now that is a terrible draft.
I'll take DraftTek's results instead (of course they are based on team needs info from the Guru).  They are not exactly what I would do, but make more sense as a group

1(12) - Chris Williams, OT Vanderbilt
2(42) - Trevor Laws, DT Notre Dame
4(108) - Lavelle Hawkins, WR California
4(119) - Kirk Barton, OT Ohio St
5(139) - Doug Legursky, OC Marshall
5(148) - Thomas DeCoud, FS California
6(183) - Vince Hall, ILB Virginia Tech
7(220) - Trevor Scott, DE Buffalo
7(227) - Taylor Mehlaff, PK Wisconsin (this last pick is still assigned to TB, but taking a K here would make sense for Denver too)

Personally, I would take a LB earlier instead of another OT and I would take another DT later on.

WTF
Garret Wolfe came out last year in Northern Ill. and was drafted by the Bears in the third round

I'm hoping...
...they are still putting it up, uploading all the pieces and things aren't settled.

Ha.

Nice Catch
I completely missed that.  Same thing with Matt Moore from Oregon State.  And since I dont readily recognize the other names, I am assuming that everything after round 2 is left over from last year.

Looks like sloppiness and not stupidity.

Yes, WR James Jones
of San Jose St. is considered by many to be a top five rookie WR from the last draft.  In later "re-done" drafts, he was in the tossed into the first round after only Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe, I believe.  As a third (and later fourth, as Koren Robinson returned) WR for Green Bay, Jones put up some really good numbers for Favre.

Dexter Jackson in the 2nd?
I thought he was projected 5th round at the earliest.

I think that is DeSean Jackson
from Cal.  But I don't see how he slips all the way down to 42.

When I started...
...writing at MHR I noticed so many errors in their (Sporting News) pre-game match-ups that I started mentioning some of them in my stories.  But there were so many mistakes that I ended up deciding it wasn't worth the time.  Some of their material is good, but most of it is horrible.  The only thing they do worse is hockey.

Read MHR for all of your pre-game system match-up needs.   : )

And no DT in the whole draft?
I hate it when people who are completely out of touch with a team just make a Mocf draft. Morons.

I will make a bet with whoever wrote that mock: Denver will choose a DT before the 5th round is over. I will put my house on that.

Ignorant. It's just like the dumb mock drafts that still have Maualuga and Laurinaitis in there.

Orange County is hot. Really! Haven't you seen the weather report?

much worse than that
I believe at least FOUR of those players are currently in the NFL.  That is pathetic.  How do they not notice all of these players being in the NFL already.  I would understand a revised draft from last year (though it would seem a little late...) but this mixes players from two different drafts.  Pure stupidity on this site's fault.  100% dumb-assery.
