My First Broncos Game Ever

This is the time of year when I start to plan which broncos game I will attend.  I now live in Utah and I am a full time student (broke) so I only get out to one game each year.  Checking out the dates and the opponents and trying to choose which game will be the most fun is always tough, but the good thing about is that it will be a blast no matter what.  I always end up thinking back to my first Broncos game ever...

Star-divide

I don't remember how old I was, but it must have been 7 or 8.  My family had a friend who was a golf pro that knew several of the broncos players, and she was able to get my dad and I tickets.  We  went to meet her to get our tickets and she was with a GIANT.  I remember that one of his legs was about the same size as all of me.  It was broncos tight end Clarence Kay.  I could barely look at him he was so intimidating, but he gave us our two tickets and said he would look for us at the game.  He was so big and so nice and I will never forget it.  He talked to my dad for a few minutes and left me with an autograph.  I painted my face orange and blue and screamed the whole game.

I don't remember who they played or even if the broncos won, but I have been hooked ever since.  Every game is fun, but I don't think I will ever top the feeling of my first Broncos game ever with my dad.  As next season begins and you are trying not to have a heart attack during the game, take a moment to remember why you love the Broncos.  It isn't always about the winning...

...It's about

TD!!!! lol

Great story man. I wish I had memories like that, but unfortunately my short term memory’s a little bit better than long-term right now :-/

Welcome to MHR and that

is a great story! Thank you for sharing it. My first game was in 1998 at the San Diego Chargers. Elway threw 5 INT’s but we still won to go 11-0 for the season. I am planning a trip to Denver in the next year or two to go to my first home game. I can’t wait…I envy you for being closer to Colorado and able to go to home games more easily. :)

I’m a parent(which means I am “broke” too). lol ;)

Very nice first post Dabriza

Great story! Good luck in school and I hope you aren’t starving while you save up money for the big game this year!

Share some more good thoughts with us when you get the time,

Awesome Story...

I figure I might as well chime in with my experiences too.

My first game was the AFC Championship game in 1989. I wish I could tell you more about it, but I was about 2 at the time so I don’t remember any of it. My family moved to the East Coast only a few years later, so I wasn’t able to get to another Broncos game until this past season.

I was able to go to the last game, against the Vikings. When it started to snow as we were going into overtime I knew we were going to win. It was an awesome experience, and now I guess I can say that I saw Jason Elam’s last game as a Bronco. It’s kind of fitting that Elam’s last kick for the team was a game winning field goal, its just too bad it wasn’t in the playoffs.
