Draft_08sm_medium

Throughout the day today I will be giving you these "Draft Primers", small tidbits of information that will allow you to be the most educated draft follower on your block.  Whether you planned to be glued to the TV all weekend, or will follow the goings on right here these Primers will have the Draft stuff you need to follow what the Broncos can and cannot do.

We'll start with an easy one.  Everyone knows the Broncos have the 12th Pick in the 1st Round, but what about the other selections, and where did those picks come from?  What happened to the picks we don't have?  Your answers below --

Rd. 1 (12th overall) -

Rd. 3 (73rd overall) -
The Broncos’ third-round pick (73rd overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft belongs to Kansas City, which acquired the pick from Minnesota on April 23 as part of the trade for Chiefs DE Jared Allen. The pick originally was traded to Minnesota, along with a

in the 2008 NFL Draft and a third-round pick in 2007 (T Ryan Harris) were acquired from Washington on Aug. 23, 2006, in a three-way trade in which the Broncos sent WR Ashley Lelie to Atlanta, which traded RB T.J. Duckett to Washington.

Rd. 5 (139th overall) -
The Broncos’ first of two fifth-round picks (139th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft was acquired from Oakland on Aug. 20 in a conditional trade for DT Gerard Warren.

Rd. 5 (148th overall) -
The Broncos’ second of two fifth-round picks (148th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft is their own selection.

Rd. 6 (180th overall) -
The Broncos’ sixth-round pick (180th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft belongs to the St. Louis Rams. Denver traded the pick to St. Louis on June 8 in exchange for DT Jimmy Kennedy.

Rd. 6 (183rd overall) -
The Broncos’ sixth-round pick (183rd overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft was acquired from Houston on March 17 in exchange for C Chris Myers.

Rd. 7 (220th overall) -
