MILE HIGH SCOUTING REPORT

Mhr_scouting_services_medium
Welcome to the MHR Scouting Services for 2008

We are just starting out and are looking for volunteers to help with the project. There are a few of you who have volunteered already so this will just be a quick note as to what we are looking to accomplish.

What this project is attempting to accomplish is scout through college teams for guys who we feel would do well as a Denver Bronco. If you have never watched a College game or dont understand the rivalries and lingo as well as all the stuff connected with College Football, dont worry, the MHR Scout team with the help of the editors are going to put together articles on What it takes to be a Bronco from Quarterback to Kicker, THe Lingo of College Football and Scouting as well as Introductions to Conferences, Rivalries and the teams themselves. We will also be giving a list of prosepects from each division so that you are not out there scouting Freshman who will not enter the draft and so forth. Once all this gets into place we are hoping to start the scouting. Are you interested? Feel free to sign up at the bottom or contact myself or the editors. We are hoping to at least cover the Big Schools and give each person no more than 6 schools to cover. The more people who join the less work for others! Join today!

A good old re-post never hurts :)

I’ll get to work as soon as I get some current obligations out of the way. I saw the category on the main page for scouting. Looks like we’ve got a good set-up going thus far.

We are getting ready to rock

SirSam has come up with a logo and everything. I still want our Conference Primers to be after the “How do you make a Bronco” and Terminology posts so that we don’t confuse people too much. I found a ton of information on the PAC 10 that I didn’t know so I am actually going to divide up my articles into History/ Rivalries and then a Playing Styles one as well.

Scouting

Jon, I live in Spokane and get a lot of news covering Washington, Washington State and U of Idaho. Maybe I can help. also Thanks for reading my blog. it was my first ever and a little out of line for this kind of format.

I'll do my best.

No guarantees that it’ll be anything amazing. I can also get a LOT of UCF news, as that’s the closest sport team of any kind to my home town (my cheap, small suburb of Orlando).

Let me know if it needs more tweaks :)

Gotcha

is there a chance you would be willing to drop in on one of the conferences not spoken for Like Sun Belt WAC Independants etc? if not I will plug you in as a BIG 10 or PAC 10 guy.

To all of you riding the fence....

If you like college ball, but aren’t sure if you can do this, give it a shot anyway.

Jon has asked me to do some write-ups on what to watch for with different positions (to see if the player matches a Denver scheme), so that should help. Other members will be doing helpful write-ups to about scouting.

You also have a big family of football fans here that are ready to help you out. We don’t expect everyone to be experts. Do what you can, and if you have some questions or need some help just put it in a comment somewhere. That’s what MHR is all about!

Thanks HT

and He is right we’re not about to attempt a scouting project overall, we are going to try and target guys we feel stand out as Broncos. You will probably see a piece here and there about guys who are just overall studs but most will be guys who fit Denver i.e. runningbacks who are one cut runners and Linebackers who are speed demons. So ALL are welcome to join us. Lets rock this out!

Thanks for doing this, I really appreciate everyone's efforts

I really don’t have very much time for watching college football, but I am really interested in all aspects of the draft. I hate to spend a couple of hours watching college football just to see a couple of highlighted college stars that play skill positions. When I do have time to watch a college game I also want to know which of the players at the non-glamour positions have NFL potential.
