WELCOME TO MHR
I just wanted to say to all of you out there just reading or those of you who are fans of another team who come here to get the "dirt" on Denver, WELCOME to MHR. Here you will find a bunch of high caliber people that will be courteous even if they disagree with you. We have many different opinions on what Denver should do here amongst ourselves and are willing and glad to discuss our beloved team with anyone who wishes to do so. Please be aware that we will do our best to treat you with respect and we expect the same in return. There are simple rules and manners for discussion here at MHR. See here and here. Keep in mind that while we are friendly we do not take kindly to those who come her to try and walk all over us and our team. There are consequences for every choice made and reactions for every action. Hope to hear from you here on MHR.

As a fan.....
of the Broncos I have to say this blog is awesome. While I’m not a “hardcore” football fan I do appreciate that you guys are. That makes going to this blog so much better. I’m trying to become an even better Broncos fan and I like how you guys keep me informed and give me opinions about what this great franchise should or shouldn’t do. Keep up the good work. Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newbie...
Well this is my first post, so figured here’s as good a spot as any. I’ve been lingering on this site for a few weeks and must say the depth of knowledge is impressive. I actually met Guru in Cleveland at the Broncos game in ‘06. I wouldn’t expect anything less than a top-notch site from him.

I got two in Detroit last year: Gold and Leach. Both may be off the team by September. It split in half on one side so I had to stitch it back together!!! Took out my frustrations on the seat in front of me watching Shaun Rogers “prance” into the endzone on the turnover.
No, training camp is out. Julie and I are planning on having kids soon. Realizing that this is the last chance to live my dream of going to every Broncos home game in a season, we’re going to all eight. I still haven’t made it to Invesco, so this is finally the year in a big way. We’ll also be at Jets, at Carolina, and at K.C. if anyone wants to tailgate.

Damn...
No Cleveland? That awesome that you are getting to all the home games. I am going to try and get to a couple as well…

Before the schedule came out, Cleveland and New England were the two games that were locks! Then the NFL decided for the first time in history to have Thursday night games in early November. Even if the Cleveland game was on MNF, we would have made it. New England is on MNF, but cannot make that one – wife said no. It would require driving up to Manchester, NH to catch a 6 am flight to Chicago the next morning. She wouldn’t go for that.

I plan on doing Jets (around the corner from me) and Carolina
I’d love to do Cleve or NE but the weeknight games are killers. I am going to the HOF to see Gary Zimmerman inducted (I know how some of you feel about that institution)

I know it’s early but you’re more than welcome to tailgate with us at Carolina and NY. I heard NY is a tough place to find places to tailgate with the construction?
by Bronco Billy on May 21, 2008 3:46 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
We will have to meet up
I have a friend in Charlotte I will be meeting up with. I am pretty sure a bunch of his friends will be heading to the game as well. If it’s the same group I met when I went to the NCAA tournament in Raleigh this spring they definitely know how to tailgate.
I actually have not been to Giants stadium in a while, but I know that construction is screwing everything up. Who knows what it will be like by the time the season rolls around. My friends are more Giants fan than Jets, but I am sure a couple will be willing to join me at the game if we can all find tickets.
Not sure if you know anyone in NY or are familiar with the area, but feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions about the area. Tickets in Carolina go on sale July 26 (hopefully I will remember to actually buy tix then)

Let’s just say Jay Cutler didn’t fall far from the tree. His mother and father are 100% pure class.

Jay Cutler's parents are world class.
It was amazing to be able to just sit down and talk to them. Not just for 30 seconds, like a couple hours. I won’t get into what we were talking about with respect for them, but I truly hope that their generosity and good-nature hasn’t been taken advantage of yet by disrespecttful fans. It was really surreal how nice and down-to-earth they were. That is the highlight of our (My wife and I) jouneys to away games. Everyone had a good time that night. I’m glad we got the win the next day, but I was secretly hoping Shanny would put Cutler in the game.

Hi, my name is Zach and I'm a Bronco-holic...
Seriously though, I found this site about six months ago and it has become part of my daily routine. I get up, grab a cup of coffee, and read my MHR. My thanks to you all!

I'm an admitted lurker
Been visiting the site daily and listening to MHR Radio for the past couple months. I came in search of an alternate source of Bronco news since the Post and News can’t seem to get it right. I’ve been very impressed by what I see.
The community here, to my delight, is very level headed… even the resident Raider fan, OakFoSho is relatively civil. I may not post at all, but I’ve become an avid fan of MHR. Keep up the good work!!

My first post!!!
I have been reading the articles on this website for a long time now and must say that my favorite article by far is “The Jar and two beers”. Firstfan that was some great stuff my friend…. Hoosierteacher your football lessons really help my Madden game tremendously….. Zappa, frickin sweet name man. Just thought I would throw that in there and say hello to all my fellow Bronco Brethren. Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!

Broncos junkie finds his fix...
Hello all. I just wanted to say hello to the rest of Broncos Nation! This is my first post on this board, but hopefully not my last. I have enjoyed reading through some of the posts, and I am sure I will spend many hours between now and the start of the regular season gleaning Broncos goodness from your pages.
Just out of curiousity, has anyone heard anything coming out of Denver lately concerning the status of Marshall’s arm? It has been ominously quiet on that front of late…
by GABronco on May 16, 2008 2:28 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
Marshall's arm...
The last I heard was a couple of weeks ago. He is still considered on track to attend camp.
Denver doesn’t have it’s first camp right after the draft like some teams do. Shanahan likes to have the camps bunched together before the start of the pre-season to keep the work fresh in players’ minds. This turns out to be a good thing for Marshall’s case.

A while back there was a report that his arm wasn’t healing as quickly as expected and there was speculation that he might not be available for the regular season. Maybe they’re still hung over from how long Javon’s injury kept him out? Hoosier’s info is probably more recent, so it’s nice to see that he’s back on track – hopefully.
by Bronco Billy on May 18, 2008 10:35 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
I heard the same, which came AFTER the report about
Marshall being “on-track”. I have a bad feeling about this one…how long does a severed tendon take to heal. Really? I would guess a DE or DT could recover in time for the season, but they don’t need their hands as much. Just plop a big ole cast on the biatch and go bang some heads. BMarsh needs full dexterity on his hands…or he will be catch with one hand and a lead brick this season. :(
by Tim Lynch on May 19, 2008 4:34 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
I feel better now.
Shanny was interview and said that BMarsh was running all the routes but not catching the ball yet. The good news is BMarsh will start catching the ball again in mid June. That’s only a few weeks away. Perhaps the reports of severed tendons is overblown after all. For that I will give a YEEHAW!
by Tim Lynch on May 19, 2008 10:11 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
Was the tendon
actually severed, cut in two, or just lacerated? I thought it was the latter, but I’ve never read anything that addressed that issue.

I think it would be funny
To have the newbies try and figure out how long some of the more recognizable names have been on MHR. Everybody is so welcoming that you really can’t tell who has been here a month and who has been here a year (or longer). Just one more reason this community rocks.

I know my year anniversary is coming up...since actually joining.
I couldn’t tell you when I started to lurk around MHR. It may have been in 2006, because I recall seeing TheSportsGuru on Mason’s blog while everyone was jumping the Plummer ship(except for LetPlummerPlay) onto the Jay Cutler ship. Myself included…I defended LetPlummerPlay’s right to want Plummer to play even after I jumped ship, but he got annoying after Cutler got hurt for a play and Plummer came in and throw a long bomb interception. lol After that I jumped all over LetPlummerPlay like white on rice…
Oh yea, anyways I will celebrate my year of membership by talking about how great of a start the Broncos are having. 3-0 baby!! ;)

I don't have such happy memories of joining
I first visited the site and signed up right after the 49ers game in 2006. I was so ticked after the game and needed to vent. Unfortunately, D-Will was killed shortly thereafter which really changed my perspective.

I joined up in the fall of 2006, shortly after I deployed to Kuwait
Being able to have connectivity with the Broncos and all the great fans really helped me during the 12 months I spent overseas and for several months after getting back to the States while I was transitioning from active duty back to the National Guard.
When you are gone from home for a long time (15 1/2 months) you really miss, and appreciate, all the little day to day things in life, like being able to watch some good NFL football and following up on the in-depth activities on the teams. Fortunately, all the good posts made life better for me while deployed. My thanks to all of you.

My buddy just got back from a 7 month stint in Iraq. He's a Marine.
He came back a much more somber and mature in my opinion. He left a hard drinking irresponsible wild man. I have a lot of respect for him, I still mess with him telling him that he owes me for all the training we did as kids out in the woods playing “war”. We both grew up around Vietnam Vets so we were both big on becoming Marines someday…I just ended up taking the easier path in life, he chose the hard one. He is a bigger man than I for it, as are you AB. Thank you for your service, I don’t envy you and that 130 degree heat you endured for 15 and a half months!
