The Raiders have another decent pickup here.......

Spires was released from the Bucs for salary reasons, and accepted the veteran minimum. Kiff is all about competition, and making people really earn their spot regardless of who they are. Everyone knows Burgess will be at LE, but the Raiders have brought in a couple wild cards in Kalimba Edwards and Spires, the former still on the upside of his career and the latter on the down side, to add to Richardson who showed flashes towards the end of last season. The Raiders also drafted a very interesting DE prospect late in day two name Trevor Scott. Scott should make the team regardless, and Kalimba and Spires will be left to fight for the last spot at DE. I love competition, as Kiff was able to weed a lot of the trash out last season through brutal non stop competition, and hopefully that will continue.

Real Green Chili, u-u-u-h-h-h-m-m-m.

It’s one of those hidden gems of this area. It’s kind of like a spicy gravy with chunks of pork but it is more than the sum of its parts. I love chili burgers: an open faced hamburger, covered with fries, then slop a bunch of green chili on top, sprinkle a little cheese, onion, tomatoes and lettice on the top. Ambrosia! The food of the gods. Then add a little nectar, a good beer. Oh, it’s number two on the list of all the reasons it’s good to be alive.

I’d tell you what number one is but I’m sure you already know and if you don’t, I’m sorry. Lol. But I will tell you what heaven on earth is, marrying a Latina who can make great green chili. That’s what I did. Talk about a one-two punch. Life doesn’t get any sweeter.

If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

It's the only reason to come to southern Colorado and New Mexico....

but as a Midwesterner, all I can handle is green….red is too much!

Actually...

...another good reason to go to New Mexico is family! I’m actually going to be there for about 7 days next week visiting family. As far as climate and camping and fishing go, New Mexico is way better than where I’m at now….Omaha, NE! :)

There is nothing you cannot be, there is nothing you cannot do. There is nothing you cannot have.

anything is better than Omaha

Yeah

But they have a lot of jobs and things to do. Weather just sucks and there are no mountains or trout. :(

What's that line from "Unforgiven"

“Little Bill, I thought you was dead.”

Little Bill responds, “I thought I was too, then I realized I was just in Nebraska.”

or words to that affrect.

My favorite places in NM are.....

Red River, Taos, Chama…..mainly the areas that are in the mountains.

I love Taos...

I may actually be spending a day or two there camping next week. Woohoo!

Might be some good green chili around them parts.

Oh and BTW, it’s not that red chili is hotter than green chili. It just depends on the chili pepper being used. There’s some mighty hot green chili out there so beware. I just think green chilis taste better than red ones. Just make sure you have some beer handy.

Taos

The missus and I spent our honeymoon in Taos, and drove through Trinidad to get there!

We had snow on May 1st.

I’m not sure but I think a little fell last night too. I know my son in Gunnison was complaining about it because he works outdoors, but he’s about a thousand feet higher.

That "Blind Faith" article...

seems a bit strange.

”...and the depth at receiver is alarmingly thin.”

How is our depth at receiver thin?

it is from the poorly written Colo Springs Independent......

they wouldn’t know the broncos if they went to all the home games!

Was it just me

or did the article seem to end abruptly

sorry.....

that’s why the “Indy” has little to no readership in Colo Springs. Compare it to Michael Moore at a NRA convention

I heard the bounty on that game was about 400k!

by the way I got the humor in the that comment!

Also

It said that Boss was signed to play inside linebacker replacing DJ there…..?

by Darin H on May 16, 2008 11:44 AM MDT to parent up   0 recs

Right H.

I’m sure this writer is not as interested in the Broncos as the people on this site. He should have just hyperlinked to the January 2008 Denver Post artical that brought him to his opinions.

by HBBeough on May 16, 2008 4:42 PM MDT to parent up   0 recs

Not only is Boss not an ILB (he plays OLB)...

...but typically people call 3-4s inside guys ILBs and 4-3s inside guy MLB.

Very good catches Darin. You should write to them and tell them that they need a real writer, like you! With your MHR experience, you could do it.
