Until Terrell Davis makes it into the Hall of Fame, I refuse to acknowledge the existence of such a place other than the Ring of Fame at Mile High!

Awesome.........
I love trivia. I’ve got my answers written down and I’ll be anxiously looking forward to the answers. LOL Some of the questions are before my time but I took a shot at em anyway. This is a fun way to learn more about the Broncos.
The player who thinks he can and the player who knows he can are two different players, which one are you???

THE ANSWERS...
Okay, here are the answers. Even I got 1 wrong. So, we can all throw out #4. I went line-by-line through the Broncos and Radiers all-time rosters and found some other players I had not seen before. All of these players appeared in at least one game for the Broncos in the following season after playing the previous season for the Raiders (I already checked).
1) c – Bears Stadium. Bears Stadium was the original home for the Broncos. It was later renamed Mile High Stadium in 1968. Ironically, Bob Howsam, the first owner of the Broncos, was in huge debt after expandind the stadium for baseball and went to the AFL looking for a sports team after being rejected by MLB for a team. Thus, the dubious beginning of the Broncos. Thank God things got better from there!
2) a – 1 Elam’s only successful kick of 60+ yards was his 63-yarder on Oct. 25, 1998 against Jacksonville to tie Dempsey’s NFL record for longest FG made.
3) d – Mike Anderson. Mike rushed for 251 yards at New Orleans on Dec 3, 2000.
4) Okay, I really screwed this one up when trying to verify the answer. (Sorry.) In total, there are nine (9) players who played for the Raiders the year before playing for the Broncos. Jerry Rice could have been #10. When you see the names, you’ll understand how I could have undercounted. The players:
1- Ken Lanier T Raiders 93 Denver 81-92, 94
2- Jim McMillin DB Raiders 63-64 Denver 60-62, 64-65
3- Rex Mirish DE Raiders 64-66 Denver 67-69
4- Joe Nedney K Raiders 99 Denver 00
5- Kerry Porter RB Raiders 89 Denver 90
6- Gene Prebola TE Raiders 60 Denver 61-63
7- Richard Tyson G Raiders 66 Denver 67
8- Lionel Washington DB Raiders 87-94,97 Denver 95-96
9- Chris Woods WR Raiders 87-88 Denver 89
(Note: Woods played in one game for the Broncos at PR and KR.)
5) e – 21
6) d – 6 (The Drive, The Fumble, ‘89 Divisional vs. Pitts. (Jan ‘90), The Drive II, ‘97 Divisional vs. K.C (Jan ‘98), Super Bowl XXXII vs. G.B.)
7) c – 3 (Mickey Slaughter, Craig Morton, and John Elway)
8) e – Howard Griffith. Howard scored 8 TDs for Illinois against Southern Illinois University. Rather than celebrate his achievement, some Illini alumni scorned him for breaking the record held by Illinois legend Red Grange.
9) b- Dick Butkus. Dick was also drafted by the Chicago Bears of the NFL and decided to play there instead. Ironically, the Bears other 1st Round draft pick was another HOFer, Gale Sayers, who was also drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs.
10) b – Miami. Since 1983, Miami has only finished the season with a losing record in 1988, 2004, 2006, and 2007. Since, the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, Miami has only posted 5 losing seasons. (Yet, they still can’t sell out their stadium!)
Sorry for the screw-up. Hope you enjoyed it anyway!

Yeah, sorry I missed that one. Actually denverbroncos.com transposed the numbers for his years played with the team. I just didn’t catch it. (I should have know that one anyway.) They listed him as playing from 1976-72, when it should have been 1967-72. Thanks for the catch. I’ll drop them an email too.
