Additionally, the Broncos have expressed some interest in Alexander and could wind up bringing him to Denver for a visit. Denver’s interest appeared to be more preliminary, yet it represented a third potential team interested in Alexander’s services. -- Adam Schefter

Different situation
In oak’s case, they have a good set of RBs already, and holes that need to be plugged. So what do they do? Spend a very high 1st round pick on a splashy RB. They have also broken the bank in FA. And in an early sign of cap trouble, just cut a very decent RB to make room for a draft pick.
In Den’s case, they have spent money carefuly. They didn’t use picks on any splashy choices, instead being frugal. And let’s consider the situation at RB.
Henry is a great power runner. He should be our starter. There is a risk that he may or may not have injury concerns.
Torain has the potential to be a good power back, and Alridge may be a good speed back. Denver does a good job with late rounders and undrafted free agents. But we still don’t know for sure how they will do. Young and Hall are established, but have also proven not to be every down backs. They are good at change-up.
There is the very real possibility we are ready to go with good depth. There is a slight possibility that Henry gets hurt, and neither Alridge or Torain works out. Remember that stage of the season last year when we had Henry, Young, and Hall ALL out injured?
Do we need Alexander? No. Will we likely get him? No. Other teams can offer him higher pay and have more desperation. But if he DID come here it wouldn’t be a bad move at all. He could play rotation with Henry, and give Torain/Alridge time to develop.

It's a possibility not a certainty obviously.
Plus, you wouldn’t be getting him for a desperate price. It looks like Alexander will actually end up on some team before next season…possibly. However, if we’re looking at Torain as that goal line guy, that’s what Alexander could be. However, he’s really been horrible ever since…THE MADDEN CURSE haha….hit him. I personally don’t want to bring the guy in, even if Denver only had two RBs on the roster. I guess you could always take a chance on a guy, but the Broncos have LOTS of depth at the receiver and RB positions as it is.

I think....
that is the big misconception about Alexander. I have never considered Alexander a “tough, inside runner”. Even the year he broke the TD record, I didn’t think of him as a tough runner. I’m not saying you believe that, but many people seem to think it.
