I just read a good article about Phylis Rivers:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-thegameface061308&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
It discusses his pros an cons, and gives an even picture of the guy. On the one hand, he does run a solid offense, and played through a tough injury in the playoffs last year. On the other hand, the article discusses some examples of why Phylis is building a major reputation as a loud mouthed jerk.
What do we hate about the guy? I think it's the fact that he has the behavior of a raider's player, but (unlike a raiders player) plays for a team that can win more than 4 or 5 games a season.
Here's an idea that I might try out closer to the start of the season. Perhaps we can all pledge some money (or time) to a charity, and make it effective each time Rivers gets sacked by a Bronco. For example, I might donate one of my days off of work to help at the local homeless shelter for each sack, or I might give fifty bucks for each sack to the local home for pregnant teens. I think that would be cool. Anyone think we should organize something like that? Imagine, River's pain bringing hope and blessings to our communities!
