Does Parker's new title push him over the bubble?
Some of you have stated that you think Parker is on the bubble. As the fastest man on the team for now do you think Thursday afternoons challenge between Samie Parker and rookie Athony Alridge will be enough to convince coaches they need to hold on to Parker?

"Word on the street was he was the fastest on the team," Parker said. "We had to figure that out, cause I knew I was the fastest. I beat him by enough that I could turn around and look at him a little bit."

He is still on the bubble
His speed is not new news and he was hired to play football, not run track. He has to convince Shanahan that he’s one of the top five or six WRs (depending on how many we keep) if he wants to make the team. His speed is an asset, but there is more to being a WR than just running fast. He’s a decent NFL receiver, but there are some very decent players ahead of him on the depth chart, in my opinion. I hope he plays well enough to make the team, though. I’m a longtime Oregon Ducks fan. I spent almost twenty years working at the university bookstore.

I second your comments
Even though I’m a big fan of speed, I agree with Spock’s take. There’s also a decent chance that Alridge doesn’t make the team also.
Still, it’s an interesting story out of camp, and I’m glad Thorpe picked it up.

Don't Know
I had to google Parker to find who he is. Strangely enough the best report comes from TheGuru, and the response comments, in a post he made, April 14th. I didn’t even know MHR existed last April. I am a big fan of speed however…maybe Shanny sees something.

There is a reason he no longer on in KC
He was fast in KC but played behind Kennison, on a team that didn’t have much depth at the position he wasn’t locked up. I would be amazed if he makes the Broncos roster. Here is bit from Real Time Fantasy Sport on Sammy.
Parker is a speed guy with big-play ability. But he isn’t great over the middle or on short/intermediate routes. He also has suspect hands.

Sounds to me
like a poor man’s Ashley Lelie… I guess that’s somehow possible.

That's why he shouldn't be a starter.
But I love him for playing at depth on the team.

and...
He celebrates every time he ties his shoes.
Hate to say it fellas, but most of the KC fans breathed a sigh of relief when we let him walk.
