Is this a great site or what?
I've noticed that some of the fan posts on this site can generate close to 200 comments. 20, 30 and even 40+ are not uncommon. In the last couple of weeks I've been stretching my wings and looking at other sites. It seems as if many of them struggle just to get into double digits. Why is this?
I think a big part of it is the contributions MHR followers make. I don't want to leave anybody out so I'll just say that we have some very football savy writers with a lot of passion who generate stories and add comments.
But another has to be the rank and file, readers who also have that Bronco passion and aren't afraid to throw in their opinions.
Another might be the respect this site seems to have for the Bronco legacy. Even the youngest, newest fans want to hear about the good old days from us geezers.
Still another might be the respect people on this site have for each other. I know I'm not as knowledgable on some things as many, if not most of you on this site. Nevertheless, I have always felt comfortable adding something my small contributions on any topic.
I guess I feel like I'm part of a family.

Thanks for the props Jack!
I for one am just posting some links of stories that are interesting to all of you. I don’t think I would call my efforts savvy.

Consider this...
The news accounts you put up may not generate the comments, but they do something critical. Because of you and your contribution, I (and many of us) feel that MHR is our “one stop news source” for the Broncos. Because of you, I don’t have to go anywhere else. In fact, when you have to be out of town, I have to go through me old routine of hitting several other sites, and that takes a lot of time.
I appreciate all that you do, and hope that Horse Tracks is a feature of MHR for a long time to come.

I don't always comment on mdierks posts...
...but I really love and read almost all of them. It helps me catch up quickly. I’m really not very good at combing through all the stuff that’s out there.. He makes it so much easier.
Thanks mdierk!

Great points Jack...
I think comment counts are indictative of the tight knit community that has developed here. Most of us know each other and are quick to give props to new contributers, as well as welcome them to the site. Long ago, it was just Guru that would mostly welcome new newcomers…now I am sure one, two, three, or more people have welcomed a newcomer to the site before Guru even has a chance to read the new comment.
I don’t toss anyone’s opinions aside, even if I disagree. It amazes me that there isn’t more dispiriting arguments among the fans like you see on so many message boards. Part of the reason is that it is so hard to disagree with someone on the internet without coming off as insulting. Luckily, I think most of us have realized that though I may disagree with you one day on a certain topic, we may be in total agreement the next on a different one. There is no one I disagree with more than HT, but time and again he has schooled me…but I take small comforts in knowing that I’ve schooled him once or twice. Minor victories to be sure, but I cherish them both. lol
All joking aside, this is exactly the type of thing I needed to read after the poop shoveling I’ve endured most of today. I was close to calling that guy from the tv show “Dirtiest Jobs”. Thanks for the nice refreshing post Jack!

Kudos to everyone
Especially Guru, Zappa, HT, Styg and mdierk (the coaching staff) for not bringing down the heavy hand, being open and allowing this place to grow, organically.
I consult for a lot of organizations trying to build online organizations and engage in Internet activism. And more often than not, they rarely get off the ground. Frequently it is because they spend so much time/money/energy that they have some expected outcomes that they hold onto like a ships mast in a hurricane.
The reality, though, is that when you create space for people to co-create the community, put up the kind of information they want to see, communicate in the ways that work for them – they have a stake in the whole project and will keep it moving forward.
So thank you to the originators (and SB Nation) for injecting this spirit into the site. And all the rest of you for bringing it to life. I only recently stopped lurking and started posting, and rarely have I felt more welcome, respected and delighted to participate in whatever way I can.

My comfort...
...is that our disagreements are respected on both sides, are always well argued with facts, and model how folks should disagree. It’s a shame our nation’s political parties couldn’t learn a thing or two from us. Folks with a common interest (like the Broncos, or the country’s well being) should remember we are on the same side, even if we disagree about about the best way to move forward.

yea, political parties want everyone to think like they do...
Bronco fans already think more or less the same…i already feel dirty about talking politics so I am stopping now. lol

good feelings
I know what you mean Jack, MHR has more knowledge and class than any Bronco site on the net. Thanks for bringing up family. I tend to be somewhat of an idiot but still feel comfortable putting up an occasional Post. I really hated the song, “We are Family” but I feel that this is a good family.
I'm the resident village idiot, "There Can Be Only One". ;)
I don’t think there are any idiots here…except for the occasional troll.

idiot: One that does not conform to the standards or ideals of a given belief or tradition.

What is the definition of an idiot in American English?
Oh wait, I know…
Idiot: An Oakland Raider fan
I am guessing we are the Victorian version of an idiot…

I did a post at the Raiders SB site, telling them that they need to grow up. Telling them that they need to become a power again so I can hate them with a Godly type of hate. Funny thing, I got a pretty good response.

Zappa, I just did a post on the Raider site. I am really getting tired of our arch enemy being worthless. I need them to get better so I can hate them all the more!
bronc......sd
We need the Raiders to help beat-up San Diego until Norv is done taking them down to the mediocrity he is best at.
Not me
You can forget about my support for a better raider team. I want them to go 0-16 for the rest of eternity. I want them to be so bad, that their fans resort to (ok I better not say it)
I don’t need them to be competative to enjoy watching them lose. I relish in it. The bigger they get stomped in a game the better.

Its a great site
It has gotten better and better. I think its grow by leaps and bounds since switching to SBN. Before I could miss a few days. Now its one of my daily stops after checking my e-mail. The commentors are good, as are the leaders or main contributors to the site. I am amazed at the amount of new commentors we get here daily. I mean I remember when it was the same few, Now so many new prespectives its great. Just think I stumbled onto it from a link from a Pats/49er friend of mine.

It is a great site.......................
I have been a Bronco fan for years and have looked at other sites but was always turned off by everyone calling for somebody’s head every year. It was all too negative, this site is cool because we can cuss and discuss and be honest without spewing venom unless some fan for another team comes in and bashes us without merit. I love MHR and hope it never goes away. Awesome people with class and dignity, most of all everybody here is a football fan. We have our team that we support through thick and thin, and that is what it’s all about. Thanks again Guru and anyone else who ever contributed to this site.
The player who thinks he can and the player who knows he can are two different players, which one are you???
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SITE ON THE WEB!!!
Lately I’ve not commented because I don’t have time after reading all the GREAT posts & articles you guys keep putting up! Thank you all again!!! I used to think I knew a bit about football, but I”ve learned so much in the last few months that I now know that I’m only scratching the scratch, so to speak! Great stuff & PLEASE keep it coming!
P.S. I love the positivity & the way you take down any negative “visitors”, you just keep bombarding them with facts, not just opinions, untill they can’t hang any more! You folks are a delight!
Your welcome here Pmac
...and we look forward to anything you have to put up!

this is the...
best bronco site by a nuclear mile(that’s a little longer than a regular mile). i came over here by a link from another site, can’t remember which one. the only reason i was looking for new bronco sites, again, was because mason got canned, and some of the good writers at the newspaper sites move on. i couldn’t believe all the information and depth on this site, and the comments showed a knowledge of football i have not seen anywhere else. i’m still trying to get used to the borderline delusional optimism here, but i’ll take that over the fire/cut everybody banter prevalent most everywhere else. i’m just more of a realist, and i can’t seem to find people that think we are not god nor dog. but i really think that this team, and this site, has many good years ahead of it. cheers!
I am incredibly optimistic but when I am realistic I see our team winning
about 8-9 games. It will take a year or two to develop the new talent and get everyone meshing like a team. The schedule is really helped by having two weak teams in the AFC West, but I wish it would mean something to beat KC and Oakland.

A true compliment...
Coming from one of the earliest members. Trinidad can speak to just how far this site has come in the nearly 2 years it has been around. The goal when the site started was simple, create a POSITIVE place where Broncos fans from all over the world could come and talk about the Broncos, and just about anything else on their mind. I think MHR has gone a long way towards creating that, and I have no plans on sitting on my laurels. I want to keep growing the site, keep finding ways to get you all as close to the team as possible while at the same time staying true to those core values.
Here’s to many more years of MHR being your positive place to to talk about everything Orange and Blue!

I agree with that
As you can tell by my profile I am a huge Colorado sports fan,. I was born in boulder and graduted form Nothglenn, but I was looking and joingin the other SBN blogs for the Nuggs/Avs/Rox. I was appalled at the negativity on the Nuggs/Avs. It made me sad. But then I come on here and its nothing but positive. It has great posters and good insight. Plus when a troll comes in and tries to bash one of the Bronco players/coaches and the like we as a community circle the wagons and come back with intelligent thoughts and good facts. This by far is the best site i have been to.

Great site
That is a nice compliment and I totally feel the same way. I stumbled on to this site sometime last year and just recently joined the site and I am glad I did. I find myself regularly checking the site to see what’s new and positing my opinions. The one thing that I really like is the live show done weekly on Wednesday. Everybody does a great job of making this site as popular as it is. Nice work
weazel
I just promoted myself to idiot of this site. You are right. This site has some brilliant football minds—and other great minds that contribute. We look forward to your first post! Keep it clean, factual (as best you can) and kind. Respect all peoples comments. don’t be mean.
Clark Congratulations
On your promotion. All though I’m not sure you are deserving. :)
I love this site. I too was looking for something after Mason got canned. I stumbled across MHR, thankfully. I have been addicted ever since. In fact given my current work enviornment somedays it’s the only thing that keeps me sane. I’ve even posted a few things and no one has booed me off the stage yet. All the coaching staff does a great job here.
Zappa you still owe me when Lynch makes the pro bowl this year. ;)

I can vouch for international...
I’m in Qatar right now working on an engineering project(civillian) and I’m going to miss most if not all of the season. I’m so glad I found this site. I thought me and my best friend were the only two who talked this way about football generally and the Broncos specifically. You guys are awesome.
Hey JR_G,
I need to speak to somebody in that area of the world, nothing serious or anything. Would you mind contacting me at the e-mail address listed at my profile page?

same here. I might go look for specific things, but in general I know all my Broncos news
will be right here..either on the front page or in the fanpost or fanshot sections. ;)
