Huge Camp News!!!
The Broncos are expected to release FS John Lynch on Thursday, according to the Rocky Mountain News. (I know he was not at practice today for "personal" reasons.)
The paper calls San Diego a possible suitor, but Lynch wouldn't get what he wants there: a job as a three-down starter. Lynch is 37 in September, but could still help somewhere as a box safety. Teams in need of a hard hitting DB include St. Louis, Washington, Philadelphia, and possibly the Jets. Houston is deep at safety, but may also have interest due to Lynch's ties with Gary Kubiak.
I for one am really upset at this news. Even though it seems Lynch had lost a step, he was a leader and a fan favorite. I am super bummed at the news, but mostly for losing Lynch the man, not really Lynch the player.

I just heard this also
I wonder if the faders will go after him. It seems like alice likes to pick at the broncos scraps.
I liked Lynch but it was obvious to me he wasnt gonna beat out McCree

Do we know that he'll be looking to sign somewhere else?
Or might he simply retire?

From what I've read
He hopes to play more, but also wants to do TV.

It is a sad day
I hope someone steps up to fill his shoes on defense as far as leadership goes. With all the rookies and new personnel on the team someone is going to need to take that role over immediately
John- Good Luck and thanks for the memories

I was writing this up
when you posted RCOB! You beat me to the punch. I attached a poll to see what people think – which y’all can go vote on here
I, for one, am suprised and saddened. I saw this season, and maybe next, as the chance for him to teach the next generation how to play safety. I cannot believe the front office/coaching staff is going to let this happen – unless he really is insisting that it is 3 downs or nothin’...

I dont think he will come to SD
Because he would end up in the same situation as in Denver. My pops said Oakland would pick him up in a minute. I think he goes into broiadcasting. His dad owns a radio station here in SD, where he is from

Which would make sense
in that the Broncos are happy to lose him to broadcasting, but less so to a league rival… Thanks for the info, stuckinsd.

Why would he sign with SD?
They didn’t resign McCree because they wouldn’t let him start. He would be a bench player for SD.
New England might sign him … they actually wanted to sign him 4 years ago when Lynch chose Denver … Imagine him in NE for the past four years. He would have had a ring and some nice games.
Go So Cal. I am the bigger one.

Marlon McCree is a proven vet who should be able to provide leadership!!!
Lynch will be missed as a person…but I think the Broncos have realized that they’re better without him on the field.

I agree
I think the Chargers are gonna regret letting McCree leave and come to Denver. But not I

I sure hope McCree
can fill them shoes. They are awful large!

I hope he goes into broadcasting!!!
I will be incredibly disappointed if he becomes a Fader or joins any other AFC rival.

Ick
that’d be terrible. What teams were your thinking need a first string safety? I guess Jacksonville, since Sammy Knight left… Any others?

I saw Philly and NE lmentioned as possible suitors.
I’d be fine with the Eagles landing him. He would be a youngin’ on the Pats (okay not really.).

Eagles
Makes a lot of sense to me. They could use the upgrade, and are a competitive squad. And then we don’t have to face him until the SB. ;-)
In NE, he and Harrison could start a nursing home in the secondary….
