Shany Guarantee
I just listened to a radio interview with Mike Shanahan, and he was asked about not making the playoffs the last two years, and he said, and I quote, “No one puts more pressure on me then I do on myself. WE WILL NOT MISS THE PLAYOFFS (this year).”
I love it! To hear the head couch with that kind of determination and confidence in the team. Now I am really excited for football season baby!

Heard the sasme interview...
On my way to practice. There is alot of confidence, no doubt about it. I thought the “full-pads” debate was solid as well….

I would like to hear more about the "fullpads debate" you mention
if you have the time.

Broncos definitely in the playoffs
Only question is will they be a wildcard or win the division? I see 10-6 or 11-5.
How about
@oak W21-17
vsSD W 31-28
VS NO W 35-24
@KC W 42-17
Vs TB W 17-14
VsJack L 14-17
@NE L 24-28
bye
vs Mia W 35-14
@Clev W 42-28
@Atl W 35-17
vsOak W 24-21
@Nyj W 35-21
vsKC W 48-28
@Car W 24-21
@Buf W 28-17
@SD L 38-42
As you can plainly see the obvious conclusion is 13—3
Switch NE and TB

We will win the division!!
Shany is doing all the right things to not be embarrassed like we were last year, even if it means letting big names go else where if they arent 100% committed to winning! go Bronco’s!!
Week two is going to be huge...
If we can reverse the trend against da Bolts at Invesco, that’ll be a statement that we’re ready to compete. If they walk in and beat us again, different story. I’m hoping to see a dirty backside on Phyllis’ jersey that day when we punch them in the mouth, but Slowik and the boys have some work to do before that’ll happen…
I know you meant
When they reverse the trend.
I dont know about all of you, but i am beyond sick and tired of everybody annoiting the AFC West to Sd. Last I checked they are thin at RB, their all-pro TE is probably gonna be on the PUP list, the do have issues at OL, and the secondary is still suspect. Their starting LB (Cooper) is suspended for 4 games. Another Steriod man on that team. WHAT A SHOCK! Plus their starting QB is coming off of knee surgery and NOBODY knows how he is gonna do. Not to mention LT took longer to recover from his injury. Maybe I am a huge Bronco fan, but I am not ready to concede the AFC West yet.
Also on the radio here yesterday there was talk tahat LT will not sign another contract. He most likely will retire after 2009. Thats what he is saying.

They had a terrific record last year, and we didn't.
If we want to shut people up, we’ll need to do it on the field. That’s the only thing the media understands.

I have to be honest here
that is the only thing I understand as well. Unless they cheated, the team with the trophy gets the bragging rights…

well...
It ended up pretty good, But I was here when they were 5-5 and nobody was talking a lot about how good they were. See, I guess what is really cahpping my a$$ is that with serious injuries and problems to start the season they seem to be given a pass and are gonna be so great. I can understand why they are picked, but with the way the NFL is anymore is very naive to overlook Denver and Shanahan. I am just sick and tired of hearing how great Sd is and how bad Denver is

I can agree with that
Every early “claim” to the AFC west that gets foisted onto SD should carry the disclaimer that Denver isn’t going to just roll over and make it easy.
Instead we hear about how the faders are going to make some noise this year (whining is my bet) and how KC is really moving along in the rebuilding phase. Yeah right. They act like it would KILL them to say something good about Denver once in a while, unless we are 13-0 and forcing them to fess up…
In particular I am bothered by guys who know football writing off the whole team because they don’t like the looks of our offensive and defensive lines. One, NEVER write off our offensive line, two, context is everything and this year the context is healthy oline (c’mon Nalen…) and smarter scheming on the defensive line. I feel about 70% confident in our lines this year, without having seen a snap, so I can understand the concern, but saying that we are a 6-10 team in the making is farkin ridiculous.
Having said that, if I don’t like what I see in training camp, my opinion of the lines could drop and be in the neighborhood of 50%... not good. If I like what I see, 90% or better is realistic. That means playoffs.
