Why I go to Training Camp!!!
This FanPast is for the sole purpose of boasting. I'll leave the practice insights to Guru (I think he caught this morning's practice).
However, today is the reason you go to training camp. This is the first day that numerous players were readily accesible and talking with the fans. I met Doom, Sapp, Hackney, Marshall and several others were hanging out with the fans.
All the players were really cool. I asked Marshall if he still thought he'd have a 100 reception season and he responded, "130"! I also had him sign my hat like a geek!
The only part of practice that I'll relate is that Prater has a leg! He kept drilling field goals and they kept backing him up. He drilled it and they'd back him up again. Without ever missing a kick, they took him off the field after drilling a 67 yarder.
Incredible!!!

The closest
I have been to doing something like that was seeing TD in a costco up in Temecula, CA. It was weird.
I have not met a Bronco since 1986 when I was a bronco sponsor party at Water World and met Steve Watson. Of course Elway wasnt there. Thats who I really wanted to meet. But I was 17 and it seemed cool

Great News on Prater
we will have our bumps in the road with Prater , that is to be expected , but he seems to be getting consistant ( and if he can do it under the lights--we will be ok) a 67 yarder -—that would be a RECORD
Also this old man here is jealous that you got your hat signed-—We will never be that old—lol

Great Report!
I’m glad you got to get up close and personal with some of the men on the team this year. I hope I get the same opportunity on the 12th. I love hearing about Prater’s leg strength.

I can't even imagine...
if I were in your shoes I would be boasting too. Thanks for your perspective from the field. Firstfan once told a story about going to the first Broncos training camp and telling us how huge the players seemed back then. I wonder what he will think of the 2008 players!
As a side note I am an alumni of the University of Nevada and it was Matt Prater who missed an extra point in overtime to give my beloved Wolfpack the Hawii Bowl Trophy.
I know he has a good leg but I sure hope he can make them when it counts.
They put pressure on
Coach Shanahan said they put pressure on. This was not just an open field attempt. He was kicking behind an O-Line that was keeping out defenders. I guess we will see how he performs under the lights on Aug. 9th.

did ya see/hear
Prater nailed a 68 yard FG a few days ago. Now I will be happy if he can nail 40-49 yard Fgs wilth accuracy and 75% of FGs over 50

Great insight.
You don’t have to give a camp breakdown to give us a feel of what it’s like. Just let us know who you met, what was said, and how great it is to be there! You’re off to a great start!

Did you call DOOM
“DOOM” or Elvis? I have a sneaking suspicion that he doesn’t know he has an awesome nickname….

VERY good point! Someone should let him know we like "Doom"!

I thought Investco was flooded with "DOOOM" every time he got a sack last year.
I could be wrong. I did not make a home game in ‘07.

I didn't bring it up...
...but I’m pretty sure he’s aware of it. Even in camp a couple days ago he blew up a play and there were echoes of “DOOOOOOOOM”. Firstfan is correct…whenever Doom makes a play it echoes throught he stadium.
