1 question, 1 exciting statement...
1. I recently inherited my high school's sports column in the school newspaper. For my first article, I've decided I'm either going to write about Michael Phelps or The Redeemed Team. Does anyone have another good article idea for my next one, or a good title for my column? Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
2. Brandon Marshall = "Baby T.O.," and I've heard comparisons of Eddie Royal to Steve Smith (CAR). Does this mean, potentially, Denver could have a WR corps held down by two guys who compare to T.O. and Steve Smith in their primes?? If that's true, and we have Cutler at QB and Sheffler at TE... the next decade looks to be a time period where I'll need to buy many pairs of fresh pants.

You might want to consider finding a local Olympian to write about..
I woman won a Gold Medal in the discus throw a few days ago who lives in my town and she also graduated from one of our professional programs here at the college I work at. I was the writer for my high school news papers sports section when I was a freshman and I wrote about NFL football most of the time. lmao Much to the irritation of my journalism teacher. Needless to say, I couldn’t work under that kind of control so I quit writing for the school paper after my freshman year. :)
To answer your second question, Yes. The Denver Broncos offense has a decade of dominance coming our way. All we need now is a franchise running back. lol

Lucky me
I’m practically let free and just told to be done on time with proper spelling, grammar and coherency. Had my boy Amare Stoudemire gone to the Olympics, he’d be a sort of local hero… but I guess for the time being, as far as I know, the only guy I have is Dwight Howard. If I could score an interview with him, however, it would be about the Orlando Magic, and not so much about the Oly. (I’d get more readers about the Magic, living a few miles from Orlando than I would about the Olympics.)
So does anyone know where I could start buying discounted pants to change into for the next ten years?

First off
Its not no Redeem team. Its the USA BAsketball team. The name redeem team is lame and isnt fait to the players on the team that have not been on the olympic basketball team before. Only Melo and James were on the 2004 team. That name irritates the living crap out of me. IMO the USA basketball team doesnt have to redeem themselves to ANYONE. This is our sport and eventually the World would catch up, until we got serious and put out a TEAM! Now look no game has been within what 20 points?

You've got it, at wide receiver
Prepare to expand the pants budget, my friend. We have a world class QB, Marshall (if his change of attitude stays on track) is going to be one of the best in the league, and Eddie Royal is blowing people away. Remember last month when we generally thought he would change out ST in his area and work on being our next slot reciever? Yep, me too, and I’m just thrilled to be wrong about that. What a great attitude, too.
Scheffler is a talent. Jackson has stepped up a notch this year. Graham looks great (when he heals.). Clady is everything we hoped he would be. It just goes on and on, really. Woodyard shows great promise, ditto Torain, Aldrige, etc.
So, buy stock in Levis and have a great year!

Fla...fan-----first I want to commend you for going after something you love--writing!
After we all wanted to be ‘Like Mike’ the NBA turned into a bunch of selfish tall somethings that just wanted to score. I would write about how this Olympic team is no one person it is a team. I would make a short mention of Phelps he is special, then I would dwell on Americas Women softball team— going back to team.
I would stay away from the ‘TO/SS’ story until after our third game. We want it to be a surprise.

How about the Fastest Man Ever, . . .
Bolt becomes the first man ever to win gold and break the world records in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters. Furthermore he won by the greatest margins ever. The guy’s speed is on a whole nother level. Incredible.

Good job!
1. Anything Olympics is hot right now. Another idea (much easier than you might expect) is to ask a nearby pro or college team for a few minutes with someone from the front office (a public relations guy) and then ask them for access to someone on the coaching staff or a player. Tell them you would be grateful for anyone you can talk to with any time limit.
2. I think we have a SB level offense in place (no kidding). It may not look that way if the defense puts them in bad positions, so we’ll have to see. If the defense can hold up their end, I think we have a decent shot at the playoffs this year, and a deeper run the next few years.

I think I've got a title
A friend of mine came up with “Airin’ It Out.” The only downside to that title is that it sounds like it’s football only, and I’d like to talk about all kinds of pro/collegiate sports.
Please Note: There are only four volumes per year with the first one coming out in the first half of October.

usain bolt is the story
I envy your position, there is so much that is good in world sport that is happening right now that you cannot fail to engage your reader, you are clearly a smart young man and I am sure whatever you chose to write about the story will be intelligent and informed.
If I had a free reign to write a sports column now, it would have to be about a true Olympian and the track star of Beijing, Usain Bolt, the man is in a different league to all his competitors and would appear to be very down to earth and a fine ambassador for athletics and the Carribean.
