49'ers Dump Ashley Lelie
So much for his claims that he is a #1 receiver. Ashley Lelie was released by the San Francisco 49'ers today, proving that the once promising career of the former 1st Round pick of the Broncos is likely coming to an end.
Lelie, as most of you remember, decided to hold out in 2006 wanting a new contract and a guarunteed spot as the Broncos #1 receiver. His plan backfired and he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He stunk there, and signed with the 49'ers in 2007 as a free agent. Now he is out of a job.

This just makes me happy. Haha
Jules: Tell 'em, Vincent.
Vincent: A (Eddie) Royale with cheese.
Jules: A (Eddie) Royale with cheese! You know why they call it that?
Brett: Because of the metric system?
Jules: Check out the big brain on Brett! You're a smart mother******. That's right. The metric system.

What a shame that someone with so much tallent....
‘bad-attitudes’ himself to the point of ‘out-of-shape’ then ‘out of job’…really sad.
It really makes you appreciate Brandon, when recently asked about the comparison between him and T.O., said something like (and this is not an exact quote), “I’m not great yet—but I’m working hard to get there.”
Let’s hope we figure out Oakland without Brandon—he is very special.

Off subject
Did anyone else notice that on the Broncos official site, Cecil Sapp is listed as on IR?

The Broncos placed him
on the waived/IR list yesterday, which I believe means he is on IR, but other teams can make an attempt at him if they want.

I think he got put on regular IR
listed as “Reserve/IR” in the paper. Not 100% sure, but I seem to remember noticing the difference between him and Pierce, who was “Waived/IR”.
Anybody knwo what the penalty is for putting a player on IR when they aren’t really hurt? Just wonderin…
