Is Brett Favre coming to Mile High?
In week 5 as a member of the Tampa Bay Bucs that is. The Tampa Tribune is reporting that Favre has agreed to not block a trade to Tampa and that a trade is expected in the next 24 hours. The good thing is that as of right now John Madden will not be broadcasting the game vs Denver.
Some speculation on my part - If this deal does go through, Jeff Garcia will be traded to Chicago.

clever or lame? you can be honest :)
Tampa has plenty of QB’s already so keeping Garcia as a backup to Favre is not necessary. Minnesota is a team that would have jumped at the chance for Favre but that was a reflection on Brett’s greatness rather than Tarvaris Jackson. I think Chicago is a team that could take a big step forward with the right QB. If they were not in the NFC North they would have been in the Favre hunt. The Jets could be a possibility for Garcia as well (if Gruden wants to trade him out of the NFC or if there is some kind of agreement with Green Bay). And strangely, due to the differences in the situations (salary, media hoopla, leverage, etc), Tampa might come close to recouping whatever draft pick(s) they give up for Favre.
On the other hand, Jon Gruden does love quarterbacks so he might just decide to keep six QBs

I think the Packers
will make it a conditional pick, one of the conditions is that Favre isn’t traded to another team (can they do that?).

If he goes to Tampa
That would be like Montan to KC, or Namath to the Rams. Nice way to end your career. I am sick of this guy anyway. I hope it diminished his legacy, I really do. He has been selfish and a pain in the arse. I dont think it makes Tampa a legit SB conteder.

I agree.
I would have kept my respect for him if he’d stayed retired. The fawning of the press was never his fault. But after what he’s put his team through now, I agree he deserves the loss of glory he’s put himself into in TB.

Just what we need.......
Another Brett Favre night at Mile High. Only thing is, no ESPN this time to do it its full justice. I used to think a lot of Brett, but not so much anymore. How ugly this whole thing has been…........

Just imagine
if John Elway had “un-retired” and after being told his starting spot was not assured began demanding to go to the Raiders or the Chiefs? Favre is being selfish and using his status in Green Bay and around the Packer nation to force fans to choose their loyalties. You are either with the Packers or with Favre.

The only difference
is favre has been doing this crap for over 3 years now. Plus who in their reight mind would have started Griese or Scrubby Brister over Elway. You may say the same about Rodgers, but Rodgers is a #1 draft pick whereas Denver hadnt spent a #1 on a QB since Maddox (at Elways retirement)

You're right...
the analogy doesn’t follow exactly but that essentially is what Favre has done. He out played the Packers in the political game and now (IMHO) both are worse for it. The media will make the Packers organization out to be the bad guy but its the fans that really lose.

I did understand
Where you was going though. But I think in Denver the pressure would have been to great for the Broncos not to relent to whatever Elway would have wanted. Seeing that he had just led denver to back to back Titles
