NFL helmet logos - just for fun
I did this a little over a year ago - hope it's entertaining. It got a little chopped up after the cut and paste, but I think you can follow what I was doing.

Okay, so I’m bored. But here are Brad’s Picks’ best NFL helmet logos, from best to worst:
Pretty cool. Fits the locale, and is menacing without looking doltish.
Ditto.
American Eagle, I guess, so Ditto.
Fleur-de-lis. French heraldic device. French Quarter and all that. Fits the locale.
Not dramatic, but visually good, and fits the locale.
I’ve never figured out what a Charger is, exactly, but a good logo for the Bolts.
I like the tough little bird.
No logo. Supposedly the Browns (named after Paul Brown) are exempt from the league mandate that all helmets have a logo. Kind of a logo in itself.
Okay. Could be better.
A cool Pirates’ flag.
Colors, horns, star, a menacing posture. But where’s the lasso? This is Texas.
I do prefer their helmet logo that is just an arrow with feathers.
Dude looks kind of lame. And the helmet should be a different color than the hair. And maybe the horns tilted forward? Like you're attacking?
What is that red thing?
Okay, but doesn’t jump out at you.
A good looking Ram.
A good looking putty tat. And blue to boot!
Uhh?
Kind of hard to make out.
Is this cat blind?
What is this? What’s the T shape? And the flames??
Boring.
Talk about bland.
Ditto, and more.
Boring.
Is this lame or what? Half blind bored looking dude with two swords run through his neck?
Now we get to the teams that just go with a name or initial or something.

Best of the bunch.
Next best.
I guess that’s a green football? Where’s the Jet?
Maybe the most boring of all.
A close second?
And finally, the worst. I mean, what is this?

I think the colored stars on the Pittsburgh helmet stand for....
Yellow- the color of the average Steeler’s stomach area
Blue- the color of their collars
Red- for the color coming out of Rothlisberger’s head after the motorcycle crash.
Michael Fabiano really knows nothing about football outside of regression analysis and stat extrapolation. If it doesn’t have to do with fantasy football, his opinion is worthless.

I thought it had to do with the three processes of making steel. :)

Color Commentary
Yellow, last I was there, was the color of the skies over the mills. Blue was the color of their noses in winter. You’ve got me on the red :)

The Steelers
are actually one of the better-logo’d teams IMHO. The use of the American Steel symbol is ingenious. Having one logo on your helmet as opposed to two is also pretty neat.
The Ravens logo is also rather good. With Edgar Allan Poe living (most of, not all of) his adult life in Baltimore, the Raven is a great pick for a team in Baltimore. The purple and black also serve to make a more menacing or doom-y look, much like the feeling of Poe’s poem, The Raven.
The Jets, named after the gang from West Side Story, have a semi-clever name, but the logo is pretty crappy. (Before they were the Jets, they were the New York T-I-T-A-N-S TITANS! TITANS! TITANS!)
Now, Cleveland… I STILL don’t understand the orange coloring. BROWN =/= ORANGE. I learned that in like… Pre-K.

The Seahawk Logo
It looks like an Eskimo totem symbol
Victor Frankl:
What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.

Seahawk logo
Sure, it comes from a totem symbol, which is why I like it for it’s locale flavor. Same with the Broncos stallion. Just trying to be objective, I think the Seahawks logo is the better. I got nothing against the Seahawks – they used to beat the Raiders all the time in the late 70’s into the 80’s, and you gotta like that.

Texans.
I think the Texans logo is the best. I also like the Broncos, Rams and Falcons. It’s not surprising that more recently designed ones are better…

Newer logos
Texans logo is good, and I agree that the newer ones generally are better, but you gotta like the tough little bird, an oldie but goodie.

But the Denver Logo
is the Best. How many teams can you name that changed their logo and won Back to back superbowls in the first 2 years of that new logo. I can only name ONE

I remember when they first announced that they were going to come up with a new logo
I thought “Just a long as it’s not like the Patriot’s, Jags or Panthers new logos”.
But, somehow, winning the Super Bowl that year, made it all better!

Broncos
I like the Broncos logo, but the uniforms have got to go. They need to go back to orange jerseys, wear blue pants on the road more, and get new number and name fonts for their uniforms.

Agreed.
Our uniforms are not very good…

I disagree
I like them better. Now if you add the alternate jersey maybe. But they need to keep the dark blue they have. Plus it sell better. THAT is the true bottom line

It's all about
That winking pirate of Tampa Bay. Which of us is manly enough to walk around with a knife in our teeth while winking at everyone we see? None. That’s one tough pirate. Best logo/uniforms in organized sports history.
