Our Thoughts Go Out To Andre Hall and Marquand Manuel
This quote from Mike Shanahan today --
Marquand Manuel had a tough situation with his daughter. He got the game ball. His daughter has been very sick; she's 2 years old. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but he's been going through a tough time and he's been working through practices with his daughter not in very good shape.
It amazes me that these guy can focus on football with issues like these back at home. Between Andre Hall, who attended his mother's funeral today, and Marquand Manuel, who is dealing with his daughter's illness, the thoughts of every member of Mile High Report go out to them. Stay strong, guys, we are ALL behind you!

Wasn't Marquand's daughter
being treated for heart disease? Or am I thinking of HT again?
Wishing them all the best.

My sympathy to both players.
Loosing a parent is tough and I admire the way Hall has handled his loss. While at training camp I had the priveledge of watching Manual interact with a darling little girl whom I thought was about two. It surely must have been his daughter and in a post sometime later I commented on how touching the interaction was. We are blessed to have shuch quality men on our football team. BroncoCountryHawii says it very well.

Thanks Mike
Victor Frankl:
What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

I cant imagine
how tough that would be. If it was me and that was by daughter I would be in a different world all together. My heart and prayers go out to Manuel, and to Hall for losing his Mom. Denver players have been hit with tragedies lately.

I'm more than ok with Manuel...
…taking some time out to be with his daughter. I know what it’s like to have a sick daughter and be away from home for extended time during the illness, so I’m a little biased. But I’ve also coached, and known the value of keeping the respect of the locker room by letting a player attend to something more important. If Manuel wants to take some time off, I’m sure the team will support it.
By the way, I don’t buy for a moment that Shanny doesn’t know what’s going on. There’s no way. I’m sure he’s keeping it under wraps for the family’s sake. I’m also sure that the Bronco organization (players and ownership) are in the mix helping on some way.
I imagine that Manuel is probably attending practices and working hard because (like a lot of us guys), you have to keep active to keep your sanity in a situation like this. It’s the only escape he has from wrestling with the pain. I’m sure he’s spending every minute of his time away from the game with his daughter.
