Like what I see in the play-calling
with Bates, except for the third quarter when they stopped doing what was successfull. I know we were trying to run and that is a big part of our offense, if the opposing team can’t stop you from passing then why stop.
More TDs instead of FGs is exactly what I wanted to see this year.
Well the competition committee is going to look into the fumble call in the offseason and might go under the down by contact rule which means that SD would have had the ball. On the other hand I heard that some people don’t want the QB diving at that play ( possibly getting hurt) It will be interesting to see how this goes in the offseason.

My thinking
I know we were trying to run and that is a big part of our offense, if the opposing team can’t stop you from passing then why stop.
The risk in passing is the interception that turns the game around. Running eats clock and very much lessens the chance of a turnover. The offense did the right thing trying to run. They weren’t succesful (in part) because they started running late in the game, and hadn’t worn down the DL and LBs.
Instead, the real problem was out STs coverage and defense. Just my opinions.

You are totally right and I want Denver to stick to the running game
I was just saying that since they weren’t able to stop us from passing. Eating up clock is obviously what I want to do so we can wear them down.
ST does need improvement because if Sproiles didn’t run that one back and we stop them they don’t get any momentum. With the Saints coming up we need to keep an eye and several players on Bush when he returns some kicks/punts.

"Replay wouldn't have helped in the first quarter"
I’ve argued all along that Champ deserved that strip in the 1st Qtr. Let the players play the game — this isn’t wuss-ball.
Vindication, sort of: apparently possession is not reviewable:

The announcers kept talking about it being a fumble, but the official ruling/scoring was interception. And I still think it was the right call.

That's just laziness in the media.
They are awash with lazy talking heads who just repeat what they heard. Remember, a vast majority of those on the air who talk sports know little to nothing about many of the sports they are reporting on. To them a fumble is only slightly different than an interception…sad I know. But then again, I’d do just as poorly when trying to write about hockey or something.

There is no excuse for announcers not knowing the rulebook
How can they intelligently comment on the game if they don’t know the rules? It is amazing that Pop Warner officials who get paid almost nothing have more knowledge of the rules than announcers that get paid millions.

They mentioned
that the plays are scripted both for the begining of the first half, and for the begining of hte second half…
How do you script plays for the begining of the second half? Was that why we came out sluggish?

Was the second script done during halftime adjustments?
Perhaps that is what is meant.
I noticed the quitting next to Lynch leaving article. Funny stuff.

What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.

On Lynch
It just goes to prove he is done. Heck even the crappy teams in the NFL dont need him.

I think Shanny is just adding fuel to the fire
by saying that this was the best officiating crew that he’s had in the past 20 games. Even he has to admit that we got one on that play and should have “manned up” to it.
But, I still can’t fault him for pointing out that just because the call went our way, they didn’t give us the touchdown and 2-pt. conversion. SD should have used that as a rallying point and shut us down, but the couldn’t.
