5 things I am looking forward to this (second bachelor) weekend
So last weekend I was in Denver with my groom's men celebrating my upcoming nuptials, seeing the Rockies look bad and being present for one of the greatest NFL finishes of all time.
Amazingly enough, this week I am headed back. No dudes, beer and nosebleed seats this week. Just me and my sister in the FedEx luxury box.
I will be coming in from Denver proper while my sister trains it from Littleton. I intend to be early (and less hungover) than last week. Anyone tailgating and want one more to join in the fun?
In the meantime, this is what I am looking forward to this weekend:
1) My second ever NFL game, second in two weeks and second luxury box experience (the other was in Oakland for the A's). Will I drink white wine?
2) Seeing my wonderful older sister, who may just be as big a Broncos fan as I am. Even though he is staying at home with a friend so we can focus on cheering, my infant nephew will be wearing his Broncos sweats. Awesome.
3) Watching for signs of life on the defensive side of the ball. Seeing Moss, JMFW, Woodyard, et al. come in and be difference makers. We have a real chance with a banged up Saints O.
4) Eddie and Brandon. Brandon and Eddie. Touchdowns and first downs. Catches and runs. (Maybe a little Cliff and Darrell would be alright, too)
5) Trying again to put some faces to the names from this great website. And maybe sharing a bloody mary or three.
Everyone enjoy the game. Go Broncos!

Now that I know that getting married means going to this many Broncos games, I might have to reconsider the whole concept.

heh. I was just reading the Sports Guy's week 3 predictions over at ESPN
This quote about being stuck in the Matha’s Vineyard airport seems appropriate.
Second, just when I thought the day couldn’t get worse, my daughter pulled the fire alarm and nearly caused a riot. I continue to hate every one of my friends who told me, “You have to have kids — they’re the best!” Burn in hell, all of you

And too many beers
drunk in the stands. Nothing worse than having to clean beer out of a Broncos onesie.

That's why I left after the third quarter
last year in San Diego.
The “fans” around us were incredibly disrespectful of the fact that I had my 11 year-old son with me and constantly spewed foul language (directed at us) for most of the game. I’m no prude when it comes to my language (especially last season), but it was WAY out of control.
With the new “Fan Conduct Policy”, I don’t see how any of this will change. The stadiums are too big for policing that kind of thing and if a fan of the opponent calls the cops to point someone out, the wrath of the rest of the fans will get even worse.

"I love your analysis of our team. Its kinda like watching a spider monkey trying to figure out a jar of peanuts.. you know whats going on.. you know whats in there, but to actually figure it out, is just a bit beyond your mental skills..."

it wont be pretty
on 12/28 no matter what that game will mean. These clowns here are poor fans and think the NFL is out to get them. Its kind of funny now they have a bigger reason to hate Denver. Last year it was them cmplaining about Holliday not touching home (even tho Atkins got robbed of a HR) and now the “fumble”. I am a glutton for punishment and might try and go to that game. But the more SD fans whine and cry the more I love it
