What I wish for Denver's defense
Jim Johnson has the Eagles defense playing creatively aggressive. Notice how creative blitzing causes Pittsburgh to get surprised by a four man rush.
It's the kind of play calling the gets the most from its players. Except for the safeties, I don't think the Eagles talent level as a whole is that much better than Denver's. I'd love to see what they could do with this kind defense coordination.

Jim Johnson
is a defensive genius. Not just his gameplans, but his adjustments. I know of no weaknesses in his game. I don’t even think you can call him too risky, as he even knows when to dial everything back. I would like to know who he has on his staff that we might “borrow”…

McDermott looks like the best candidate out of the bunch
He’s been with Johnson since he started, although he’s been mostly responsible for the secondary (1-yr stint with the linebackers). Here’s his bio: http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/CoachBios.asp?coach_id=10

steve spagnoli
he is the reason they won in the playoffs. he gambled alot, but won almost every time he did. unfortunately, if he is going anywhere, it will be as a hc.

What we need is
to hire people proven in evaluating defensive talent and dedicate our next two drafts to following their advice. With the top four picks in the next two years drafts we could land 2 DT’s, 1 DE, 2 LB and 3 DB’s. Then we would have a talent laden roster on both sides of the ball.

I'm more concerned with our coaching than our talent
Although I will certainly welcome updated talent next off-season, our talent is not that much less, if any, than many other teams in the league. Our coaching is the reason our team is faring so poorly relative to the rest of the league.

agreed
never like slowick, look at his track record. i though we were going back to the coyer defense, and i am glad we got rid of bates, but this guy isn’t the answer. i know they want to stay in-house and have some continuity, but this guy is wearing on me already. anyone who doesn’t employ the 3-man rush concept is an immediate upgrade, and we need to play to our strengths, which is speed and man-man corners. slow just doesn’t get that
