Denver plays Defense like....
Okay, the Defense struggled but any time the Offense gives up four turnovers that is to be expected. However, the Denver Defense was soundly outplayed by the KC Defense when it came to forcing turnovers. The KC Defense forced turnovers against a good offense with a good O-Line, while our Defense, with the exception of the beautiful fumble Champ caused for LJ, should have been more effective against a weak Offense with a young and unproven O-Line.
No need to be totally focused on negatives. We need to look to the future. JMFW got some meaningful reps, unfortunately they were against a very good NFL WR. Plus, there were no significant injuries to the Defense and Woodyard and Larsen continue to impress on Special Teams. The starters at LB and FB are probably stepping up their game. If Larsen can play one of those positions like he plays ST he will be a starter soon. The kickoff coverage hit that knocked the KC returner’s helmet off was so hard it also knocked a bunch of pixels off my screen!!! Larsen definitely deserves a cool nickname.

Give credit to KC's defense
I hate to see us turn the ball over, but KC defenders really did an outstanding job knocking the ball out of Royal/Marshall’s hands. It wasn’t like the phantom fumbles Cutler or even Scheff the past couple of weeks. As for our defense, it seemed like we’d either tackle them behind the line of scrimmage or give up a big run/throw.
I wish Woody Paige was our coach!

I'm satisfied with our talent on defense
It’s the coaching that has me upset. I don’t think our defensive play calling is doing us any favors.

On paper, I am also satisfied with our talent
On paper we do need some upgrades and/or more youth in the pipeline at some position, but overall our D should be a basically average NFL Defense. The execution has been frustrating, not sure if it is the schemes, adjustments, luck of the draw or what. The next 4 games are against average teams, playing them should give a better assessment.
